Queen + Paul Rodgers tour (2005)

Percussion
Roger's drumkit Roger's drumkit Roger's drumkit Roger's drumkit Roger's congas
The kit is mainly a Ludwig, except the bass drum, which is a Sleishman. Here we go:
  • bass drum: 24"x20" Sleishman
  • toms: 10"x9", 14"x13" Ludwig Classic Maple
  • floor toms: 16"x16", 18"x16" Ludwig Classic Maple
  • snare: maple 14x6.5 or maple 14x8 (depending on the venue)
  • roto-toms: 12", 14", 16" (or 12", 13" and 14"?)
  • wind chimes: LP Double Row Studio (above the 18" floor tom)
  • cowbell: also Ludwig, size 6,7/8
Cymbals are all by Zildjian:
  • hi-hat: Avedis New Beat 15"
  • crash: K Dark Medium Thin brilliant 17" (on his left), K Dark Crash Medium Thin traditional 19" (on his left), K Crash/Ride traditional 20" (on his right)
  • ride: Avedis Ping Ride traditional 22"
  • china: Oriental Trash brilliant 20" (on his right)
Hardware by Ludwig (new ones, you can see they got a red label). The double-bass pedal he's using is a DW 9000, apparently the best pedal in the world :-) Drumheads were Emperor Coated (toms), Ambassador Clear (floor toms) and Powerstroke 3 (snare and bassdrum). Roger used Vic Firth 5B Wood tip drumsticks (similar ones were also on sale as official merchandise in some venues). The bass drum logo is either a "Queen" writing (Works font) or (scarcely) the new ugly logo (fourth photo - Munich, Stockholm and maybe some more venues). Roger also used LP Valje conga drums for Seagull and a tambourine (probably Ludwig) for TATDOOL.

Bass guitar
Danny's Fender Precision bass guitar Danny's Fender Precision bass guitar Danny's Fender Precision bass guitar Danny Miranda had a Fender Precision bass guitar, like John used to use. The Brixton or 46664 videos also prove that early in 2005 he had a black Fender Jazz.

Electric guitars
Brian's Red Special Greg Fryer's RS replica - John Greg Fryer's RS replica - George Andrew Guyton's RS replica Jamie's Fender Stratocaster Jamie's Gibons Les Paul
Brian's main guitar was the original Red Special (first photo). He also had two Greg Fryer's replicas named after the Beatles members. He could either play a John for Fat Bottomed Girls (different tuning) or a George (whenever he broke a string on his Red Special - which was OFTEN :-) "John" is on the second, "George" on the third photo. (Greg also made a "Paul" that he kept for himself). In exceptional cases Brian could also use an Andrew Guyton's replica that he called a Green Twin (that's the green guitar on the fourth photo - Brian played it only in Rotterdam and Belfast). Now let's get to Jamie. His main guitar still is the Fender Stratocaster (fifth photo). For some songs he had a Gibson Les Paul (last photo). Jamie also had a Sunburst Burns Red Special replica that he sometimes used for Hammer To Fall or Another One Bites The Dust (proof is on the Sheffield DVD :-)

Acoustic guitars
Brian's 12-string Guild acoustic guitar Brian's Yamaha Silent guitar Paul's Yamaha Silent guitar Jamie's Guild acoustic guitar Danny's Guild acoustic guitar Paul's Guild acoustic guitar
The first beautiful photo shows Brian in action with his 12-string Guild acoustic guitar - probably some custom model. He played it in Love Of My Life, '39, Long Away and Tavaszi Szel. For Crazy Little Thing Called Love Brian had a nylon string Yamaha Silent guitar (second photo) while Paul had a steel string Yamaha Silent guitar (third photo). (The Yamaha guitars are actually technically electric, not acoustic). Jamie's and Danny's acoustic guitars (fourth and fifth photo) are Guild too (both played them in Say It's Not True and Jamie also played another Guild in Feel Like Makin' Love and Reachin' Out). It's very well possible Jamie already had his Gibson J-45 for I Want It All and CLTCL. Paul had a Guild guitar for Seagull (last photo).
