ANNOUNCE : Rainbow original cinema 35 mm film transfer
| Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 02.07.2014 13:32 |
Okay as I knew Rianbow was set to be released later this year , I already uploaded my Rianbow stuff. Today , just as a warm up for september 5th, I upload a transfer of the Original 35 film which was used in a London cinema projector back in 1976. This is what the cinema visitors got to see beofre the main movie. Notice the edit between Now I'm Here and White Queen , suddenly Freddie lost his overcoat. Quite funny if you ask me. Pay attention to the audio , it is slightly different to the VHS release. Linaege : 35 film reel > dvd I didn't make the transfer myself, it was really hard to find a company whihc could do this in 2009 .... only 1 studio in Holland which could make these transfers. So this is just a warm up for the upcomming september release. Here is the link 2 files in total : VOB total about 1,6 gigb Here is the download LINK : link Oh yes and special thanks to Wer-Al_zwore for all the editing and other magic ! |

Richard Orchard wrote: is the official release taken from a 35mm film then? Or video sourced? The official release, to me, is video sourced. This transfer, is from a 35mm film, who was used for the shown on the theatres, and is video sourced. __________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you so much Sikke! I'm downloading the DVD... |

pittrek wrote:Yes you are correct I think. It was hard to find a studio which could do this. So when i got the results back i noticed the grain. I did have had 2 options : a projecting scan or a still scan. The later was really expensive, so I choose the first option. I never knew what the content was. When I leanred Queen was set to release this one on their own, I didn't bother to make a full still scan out of this one. As I did find out no alternate camera angles are included compared to the officicial 92 VHS release.Richard Orchard wrote: is the official release taken from a 35mm film then? Could some expert explain if this is Mono or Stereo. |

A very, very big thank you, Sikke!!! A little gift for all of us)) Only one little request: please, upload an IFO file (its name probably will be VIDEO_TS.IFO) from VIDEO_TS folder - it will help to merge two VOBs correctly, without a little break in both video and audio. |
| dave76 03.07.2014 16:42 |
Use joinvobfiles. Worked for me. And no break between the 2 files. |
| ShineHedgehog 03.07.2014 16:52 |
Hmm... OK, I'll try it :) ___________________ UPD: Oh yeah, it worked! Thanks for useful advice, dave76! |
| Ale Solan 03.07.2014 18:15 |
another great app for that purpose is VOBMerge ;) |
| Mr.QueenFan 03.07.2014 18:40 |
This is really a great share, thanks a lot for this. I know you have invested a lot of money in the Rainbow audio and video, so i really appreciate the fact that your are spreading the joy to us all for free. Thanks a lot! Oh, and by the way, that is a great transfer service you're using. I've downloaded this file in 5 minutes with my Firefox. |

| MackMantilla 07.07.2014 12:59 |
Thanks a lot! It's nice to have this version while waiting for the official release next september. IMO the audio is mono. If I'm not mistaken, cinemas back in the 70's had mono audio output. |

This makes an interesting companion to the official release, a historical document in its own right - full of grainy goodness :) |
| TrinaCrys 13.07.2014 09:33 |
Any chance of a reupload? |
| BETA215 13.07.2014 19:10 |
I'm reuploading. When the file is ready, I will copy the link here. |
| BETA215 14.07.2014 20:13 |
Here you have the link: link This re-upload will be alive a lot of time, because OneDrive is like Dropbox, no one will never remove your files. To make more simple convert this file or see this file, I joined both .vob files available (not now) in the first link. |
