Roger Taylor's solo albums "Fun in Space" and "Strange Frontier" have been expanded for reissue on March 24th in both CD and vinyl formats. The Fun in Space LP will be reissued on vinyl for the time since its 1981 release. The first run will be on clear vinyl (with black vinyl to follow) and contains a reproduction of the original album's full color inner sleeve with lyrics. The CD version, housed in a digipak, contains three bonus tracks: both sides of Taylor's 1977 solo offering ("I Wanna Testify" b/w "Turn on the TV") and the U.K. single version of the album's "My Country I & II" (issued as "My Country"). Strange Frontier will be reissued on translucent red vinyl for the first pressing (black vinyl for future runs) with all original packaging elements replicated. The CD, contained in a digipak, features five bonus tracks: remixes of the album's singles "Man on Fire," "I Cry for You (Love, Hope and Confusion)" and "Strange Frontier." It also contains the B-side to the title cut, "Two Sharp Pencils (Get Bad)." With this material currently only available in the 10 CD/1 DVD collection The Lot, this is the first time versions of the individual albums will be offered outside of that package. Fun in Space: No Violins Laugh or Cry Future Management My Country I & II Good Times Are Now Magic Is Loose Interlude in Constantinople Airheads Fun in Space CD Bonus Tracks: I Wanna Testify Turn on the TV My Country (Single Version) Strange Frontier: Strange Frontier Beautiful Dreams Man on Fire Racing in the Street Masters of War Killing Time Abandonfire Young Love It's an Illusion I Cry for You CD bonus Tracks: Man on Fire (Extended Version) I Cry for You (Single Remix) Strange Frontier (Extended Remix) I Cry for You (Extended Remix) Two Sharp Pencils (Get Bad) More details to follow! link |

Excellent! I'll be buying em both.....now they just need to do the same for Back To The Light and Another World :D |

I have 'The Lot', plus the original CD releases, and original vinyl issues (wirh Fun In Space sleeve signed by Roger!) so won't be getting these, but it is great news, and excellent that those without 'The Lot' can get these extras. |

Great news! |

That's really great news! I'm interested in some kind of deluxe sets of these albums with full and expanded album artwork. As for tracklists, they the same as I've created for private use after release of 'The Lot' but in slightly different order. And of course it could've been much more attractive if they finally add 'I Wanna Take You Higher' and "Keep On Running' to Strange Frontier bonus tracks. Also it'll be great if they revisit and fix the awful remaster of Fun In Space with all its speed issues and early fade outs. |

Very nice! |

This sounds interesting. Question is, which versions will be used for these reissue of Fun in Space, the slower version or the original one? |
Barry Durex 02.02.2015 17:50 |
^ I'm almost certain it will be the exact same release as ''The Lot" - complete with dodgy audio on the Fun in Space album. You just know they won't bother fixing it. |
cmi 03.02.2015 00:05 |
^ unfortunately it is a bitter truth... Even JJM said it's the correct speed version and didn't bother to compare it with all previous releases. |
Lplix 03.02.2015 00:44 |
...three releases of Roger's music in less than 18 months (the lot, the best and now these reissues), curious choice for all the pockets around the world. |
BETA215 03.02.2015 01:48 |
^ Ask Nightjar Productions Ltd about that. |

As regards Brians solo albums ,Back To The Light was a good effort, however Another World had some truly awfull moments,China Belle,Cyborg and the stomach churning Why Dont We Try Again ! I dont think i would be very interested in buying those two albums again. |
The King Of Rhye 03.02.2015 05:13 |
Man, I like China Belle, Cyborg, WDWTA!!!!!!!! :p |
ludwigs 03.02.2015 05:15 |
I'm just glad that I have the originals of 'Fun in Space' and 'Strange Frontier' on vinyl. Haven't listened to the newer workings of them so not aware of the issues. |
KumoNin 03.02.2015 05:16 |
Huh. Why Don't We Try Again is, imo, one of the best Brian ballads... And China Belle has those sick riffs. And that whole album is like... Brian's voice at its best, isn't it? |
alberbal12 03.02.2015 05:18 |
I prefer original issues, not reeditions. About Fun On Earth, i'm sure 1981 release not got any digital recording system... Now 2015 ones surely it'll got. For that i prefer the original ones. |

MackMantilla 03.02.2015 16:03 |
I have both albums on original japanese and american vinyl pressing. I also have them on CD and I do have The Lot too. But I'll be buying these re-releases, because they're coloured vinyls ;) |
The Ghost of Lester Burnham 03.02.2015 17:57 |
Whoa, someone doesn't like Why Don't We Try Again? I mean, I get not liking Cyborg or China Belle, and I'm not too fond on Wilderness (though I haven't listened to it in years), but Why Don't We Try Again is one of Brian's best ballads, and that's saying a lot, considering how many he's written over the years. |

Did Fun on Earth get a vinyl release? Also, any idea on the price of the coloured vinyl for these reissues? |

I am sure that after these releases, Omnivore has in its plans the following: - The Cross compilation - 3 Cross albums re-released in digi-pack packaging with bonus tracks - Happiness & Electric Fire re-released in digi-pack packaging with bonus tracks |

I'd be momentarily peeved at the scarcity and value of my copy being wiped out, but if there were ever a Roger album that deserved a vinyl re-issue it is Blue Rock. A new generation of Queen fans deserve the chance to own that on vinyl. |
