They're saturating the sound by removing the range of volume. We can only wonder how good the actual master tapes sound... |

Besides that it's of course wonderful that Tarantura release these great recordings, but it's really unbelievable that bootleg labels can ''destroy'' such great recordings.. Why not leave it as it is?? Maybe some small changes to make it sound a bit better, but a result with distortion is really strange. So the compression can be altered, but the distortion can't be fixed, right ?? |

Each one of these Tarantura things is a mammoth task - the crowd at the end of every track has to be manually matched to the beginning of the next and then the volume slowly cheated back up to make the music sound more natural (and louder than the crowd) Etc, etc, etc. Listen to the transitions between the tracks on any of the recent Tarantura stuff and you'll hopefully hear what I mean. So apologies for the delay after I promised it, but it will arrive in the not too distant future. And what Sir GH wrote earlier in this thread re compression and distortion is correct: compression can be....... eased.....with judicious EQing, but distortion is printed and there's no getting rid of it, |
