Hey. I recently watched a pretty new movie called The Heartbreak kid (featuring Ben Stiller, Malin Åkerman , Eva Longoria etc etc) and it seems in a way that the movie kinda refered to Queen, sure the signs aren't that many but anyways: Ben Stiller said "I was having a ball" (Don't stop me now) <- a quotation that's not too common. he also said "I can't help god works in mysterious ways" (One vision) and that's not a common quotation at all. The movie also featured the song Under pressure, and a picture of David Bowie on a girls underwear. Maybe it's just me.. |

Wow, the director must be a Queenfan! I heard a couple of things in that movie that referred to Queen aswell.. "My son found your panties on the sidewalk" they say sidewalk, it's a reference to Sleeping on the Sidewalk "When she tells you to cock her, you cock her! " Cock is ofcourse a reference to Freddie's love for the cock "we just got those new Nike Sasquatch" Sasquatch is a reference to all the things Freddie doesn't believe in which he sums up in Bicycle Race. Okay, he doesn't say "I don't believe in Sasquatch" but it could have easily put in there among Peter Pan, Frankenstein and Superman And one of the characters is called Eddie Cantrow, Eddie is a reference to Eddie van Halen, who played with Brian May on the Starfleet album |

In the movie Superman - superman is faster than a speeding bullet. A direct reference to 'Don't Stop Me Now'. ('...faster than the speed of light...') In the movie Superman - superman can fly. A direct reference to 'The Show Must Go On' ('...I can fly...'). When Louis falls from the helicopter - you can clearly hear superman say 'Coming soon' - naturally a reference to the Roger Taylor song of the same name. Also Louis is mortal and superman is immortal (a Highlander reference) - but more than that - it just goes to show 'Funny How Love Is' and that even immortals need 'Somebody To Love', and although Clark and Superman are the same person - Clark is obviously jealous of the relationship between Louis and superman - surely a reference to the Freddie song Jealousy? Superman not only left his home planet - but also had to leave Smallsville for Metropolis - obviously another reference to Brian's 'Leaving Home Aint Easy'. At the end of Superman - superman turns back time to save Louis - clearly a direct reference to 'Keep Yourself Alive'. Lex Luther drops his sidekick Ottis because he is both dumb and cheeky. A direct reference to 'Backchat'. In the song 'Bicycle Race' Freddie sang... 'I don't believe in Superman...' Spooky! |

I'd have to say the superman arguments sound arguments sound the strongest of all. But to be fair, I'll watch the movie before I comment on the original post. funny stuff though, funny stuff. |

Did you know that platypusses refer to Queen? They have the ability to breathe oxygen. Coincidentally, all four members of Queen breathe oxygen daily. Therefore, they are almost exactly alike. |

did you know that some gays are drag queens? on occasion, so was freddie, and he was a gay, and in queen! so then, all gays must be referencing queen. anything gay is now a queen reference. everything is gay. everything is a queen reference. |

"Having a ball" = common expression "God works (moves) in mysterious ways" = common expression Using Queen songs on a soundtrack = not uncommon And that's three references in 90 minutes, so therefore it's some sort of homage to Queen???? You're an imbecilic fantasist who shouldn't be allowed out of restraints, much less onto the internet... |

Well, last week I saw "Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" with Adam Sandler and Kevin James. There were gays all over the movie and they played Under Pressure and You're My Best Friend. Do you think the director was refering to Queen? |
