CNN writesSmith's nurse called Seminole Hard Rock Hotel workers at 1:38 p.m. and security went to the room, hotel officials said. Goes to show money doesn't bring happiness. It's very sad... And I feel terrible about her new baby...I hope the baby gets settled in with a father before she gets attatched to anyone else. They need to get on it ASAP. Also, one the last surviving vets from WWI died yesterday at the age of 110. The next week he was going to trun 111. He's brother who's 98 is still alive. |

I loathe you sometimes, Jingles. (Jokes aside, I do find "blonde jokes" really offensive and don't see the humor in them. Why am I subject to being told I'm dumb because of the color of my hair? I also don't think making fun of Anna Nicole at this point is funny either). |
AspiringPhilosophe 13.02.2007 00:12 |
Eh relax! Jingles just needs some attention...and he's not a blonde (I don't think I'm letting the cat out of the bag with that one). Someone call his girlfriend STAT! LOL Blonde jokes are only offensive if you take them personally. There are plenty of jokes about redheads too, most of them pretty dirty, but I don't let it bother me when people tell them, it is just a joke after all. And if someone is stupid enough to believe they are true, then they are stupid enough to have me not worry about it. I suggest that anyone offended by blond jokes remember that in the future. And I think you can make fun of anything...just like George Carlin says. It just depends on how you construct the joke. And lets face it, Anna Nicole made fun of herself, so why should it stop anyone else from doing what she did to herself (and set herself up for)? |

And lets face it, Anna Nicole made fun of herself, so why should it stop anyone else from doing what she did to herself (and set herself up for)?I think that Anna Nicole Smith had humility, which is why she took making fun of herself so lightly. However, I can't see where this would be validation for _others_ to join in on the self deprecation. Sure, Conan O'Brien constantly uses that kind of humor on his show - but it's different when he uses it, than for somebody else to say it. Not to vindicate her, but I think Anna Nicole Smith was just another victim of the media. However, that's the price you have to pay when you accept any sort of celebrity or public status. As far as blonde/redhead/race/ethnicity/etc. jokes, they're really all in the same category. They can easily be funny to everyone, in and out of the group they're directed toward. However, even the most laid back person will be offended to some degree if he belongs to said group (even if he finds the joke funny). Of course nobody actually takes many of the jokes seriously, or as the universal truth (even though the jokes are often based off of some truth), but that's just the way it is. |

I think it's sad that she died and everything, but people (news, reporters, etc) need to realize that HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE DIE EVERY FUCKING DAY. For example, on the news you hear "3 soldiers were killed in Iraq today" and that's it. On the other hand, Anna Nicole gets a whole tribute and hours of news coverage for over a week already or something like that. Is it THAT big of a deal that she died? I mean, what makes her all that popular anyway? Just because she married some 1,000 year old fossil and got so much media attention after he died?? -____- That doesn't matter. It's not really her fault that she's getting all this attention. Fuck news anchors. As for her daughter, there are tons of children in the world that are left without parents. Many are poor, sick, disabled, etc. Who cares about them? NO ONE. She is not alone. Besides, I doubt Anna Nicole would be a good role model, I mean c'mon, the girl's real father hasn't even been identified yet.... -___- As I said before, yes, it is sad for someone to die so young and from an unknown cause(unless it's already known....I dunno...???), however, it shouldn't be something that gets soooooo much attention and time. As the Eagles song Dirty Laundry says...."Its interesting when people die- Give us dirty laundry" (it's referring to the news). :[ |
