For all Queen fans this is a touchy subject. Yes, we all miss John Deacon. He was a great bass player and composer. I also understand that a lot of us are pissed off that he isn't involved in Queen plus Paul Rodgers, but it was his decision. You have to understand that when our dear Freddie died John didn't quit immediatly. And I read somewhere that John was extremely depressed when Freddie died (Hell they all were). But him particular... I myself am anxious to find out just what is going on in Deaky's head right now. I would certainly hate to find out that he's just taking his band for granted. Lets also remember that John has a wife and kids. HE HAD A LOT OF KIDS. Six to be exact. John did finish "Made in Heaven" and even recorded "No one but You" with Queen. It is a shame that John isn't a part of Queen visually. But I'm sure that he still comunicates with Brian and Roger. I can't see any reason why John would be taking Queen for granted or being a dick. Maybe someday John will make an appearance with Queen once more. Hell, maybe John will show up on Queen's new album. Wouldn't that be a nice surprise? I doubt it'll happen, but it doesn't hurt to hope for it. Steve |

John said himself that Queen died with Freddie and I believe that is why he won't play or record with Brian & Roger anymore. It's a shame tho that he can't or won't curtail what is being done now in the name of Queen as I personally don't like the Queen + PR collaboration at all. |

Agreed....but then again one has to wonder if Fred was still here, if HE would have wanted to have gone on. Remember his famous quote about "getting to old for this sort of thing" when referrring to touring? "i don't want to be running around onstage in a leotard at that age...it would look rediculous..." Along those lines.... Yeah, it would be very likely the four of them would still be out there composing and doing things.....but sometimes i think, well, maybe they would'nt have been? Maybe they all would have thrown in the towel at some point previous to now and retired "together"? Hard to imagine yes.....but they always say everything happens for a reason. John was always the one who was more then content to move on to other things. I think people may be reading too much into his actions, regarding his "dissapearence" and all. I have heard some "therories" and let me just say that with all "statements" ( aka rumours) coming from anywhere but the man himself should definately be taken with a grain of salt. Do not assume that it is the absolute, definate, truth. Chances are it is not! The only person who knows for certain what is going on is John himself, and those immediately close to him. As i said earlier....i'm sure whatever he is doing these days he is enjoying! |
