Congratulations to you! I know you have gone through some very hard times in the recent past, so I hope your future only brings you great things, honey!
I officially received my AA degree when I graduated last Friday. I've never been in a graduation ceremony, so it was fun. Plus, I was awarded a $1600 scholarship that I applied for, so that was good, too!
...Oh! and you look pretty in the photos! How'd you like the hat? I thought I could have done without it. ;-)
I thought the hat was annoying, mine kept falling off, I never knew what happend to mine as we all threw ours up and I never bothered to find it again, I did get the tassel (what ever it is called) off of it before hand, only cool thing about the hat.
A teacher had to pin everyone's on because they were all loose. I could have done without the hat too, lol. It was pretty cool I guess. We graduated at the Biloxi Coliseum, the same place I saw Van Halen...I will probably go to the community college down here for two years and a job and get some idea of the real world, whatever it is. Thanks you guys!!
I highly recommend attending a community college, Kayla. Honestly, I think attending one was the best decisions I've made thus far for various reasons.
CONGRATS!!
I cant wait till my graduation this time next year...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im soo ready to move on with my life and go to college and experience something new...
Kudos to you and LOADS LOADS of luck for your future!

I second that...
A lot of spoiled rotten rich kids who go to private schools consider community colleges as "ghetto" or "low class", but the truth is that the level of education at many community colleges is as good, or in some cases even better then the ones from the average private school.
I went for 2 years to a community college and the education I received there was even better than what I received at the private school I went to after graduation.
Btw... CONGRATULATIONS KAYLA!!
Exactly, Dan. A lot of people hate to admit the enormous benefits of community colleges, but the facts are there.
An instructor once told me that statistics have shown that students who have attended community colleges do better at 4-year colleges than students who go straight to 4-year colleges. The explanation for this is that community college students are much more prepared for what is expected of them than 4-year college students.
I actually am quite proud of having attended a community college and don't mind the negative stigma. I've already got the stigma of having been home-schooled, so I may as well add on another one! LOL! ;-)
I've never heard anything negative about community colleges. I went straight to a university after graduating from high school, infact I took my freshman english class immediately in the summer after high school graduation because I knew there would be a tremendous amount of papers due. I went for the next four years, summers included so I could earn my degree. It got exhausting but was well worth it. I wish you nothing but success in the years to come Kayla. Congratulations!!!!

Students at a 4 year school typically have other things to worry about than do those at a community college - namely Dorm life and all its "benefits." Unfortunately, not every college student is mature enough to handle college life and I've seen too many students blow through mom's and dad's money trying to be an adult.
Congrats, Kayla. Whatever your future holds, best of luck.
Congratulations, Kayla and Alli. I have no idea what AA and community college are but I hope you all have the chance to learn whatever you want. In my country colleges and universities are all public, so we are all equally exposed to overcrowded lectures and classes but I think it's always up to the student to make the most out of the college years. No school can hurt an intelligent person :)
well done Kayla!!!! I am proud of you!
And of course, Ali, for you the same :):):)
I do hope it gives you a wonderful future, in fact of course I know nothing of the american way of graduating!
Now enjoy your free time for a bit, :)
the chatroom is still open LOL
