So, who do you think will be the support acts mike Also, any other Canadians going down??? |
wstüssyb 28.07.2005 22:00 |
I would love for it to be Foo fighters...just for 2 shows, I think they could be arsed to do it...*Only a dream tho!* |
Gunpowder Gelatine 28.07.2005 22:19 |
^ That would be great, I love the Foo Fighters. I bet Brian could get them to do it since they seem close. |
Grantcdn 28.07.2005 22:46 |
they've got so many friends in the business it could be anyone...the Foos, they could bring the Darkness over...Crue (but I doubt they'd open)...but probably it'll end up being one of those acts from the Hollywood Tribute album....chances are that I won't care as I'll just be waiting for Queen to hit the stage.... and in response to Canadians going down...my wife and I are Canadian and we'll be heading down.....there will probably be a fair number of us I guess... |
PieterMC 28.07.2005 23:08 |
My psychic abilities predict that there will be no opening act.... |
Crazy LittleThing 28.07.2005 23:16 |
I agree. There were no opening acts at any of the spring shows even though the tickets I saw all said "plus support." They kicked things up a notch for Hyde Park with Razorlight. |
Shay 29.07.2005 03:51 |
If they do have an opening act, I'm pretty sure the Foo Fighters won't be it. I think they'll be on tour with Weezer starting in either September or October (can't remember). |
MercuryArts 29.07.2005 09:55 |
Doestn't matter who opens up. I just means an extra 45 min. to an hour to tailgate. But I would go in to see the Foo's for sure. |
Mr.Jingles 29.07.2005 09:59 |
JoJo, Hillary Duff, Ashlee Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, and Jessica Simpson. |

Happy SOMEONE is on the same wave length as me and yes it would be a FAB idea. I am sure Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins would be more than happy, if anything consider it an honor. Green Day would be cool too or My Chemical Romance since all think so highly of Queen and are all well known USA current hot acts. See this thread... :) link |

Saw them with Green Day.. I suppose they are mostly for the kiddies, cause I didn't get it..:-P |

Green Day is too big now to be opening for anyone. They are playing on Giants Stadium, and I'm going there. |

Hopefully no one...like the spring shows 2.5 hours of queen and Paul...Rock ON |

Read this thread I just put in Personal. If Metallica can be a ''special guest'' for The Rolling Stones...then the Foo Fighters or Green Day could also guest with Queen+Paul Rodgers. link |
doremi 08.08.2005 10:24 |
To everybody who says The Foo Fighters would never be a support act or even co-headline...for anyone, including Queen+Paul Rodgers... ...NOT... Read this article, the Foos are OPENING for Oasis in the UK. link |
Erin 08.08.2005 10:29 |
Arlene R. Weiss wrote: ...NOT... Read this article, the Foos are OPENING for Oasis in the UK.I don't get that at all. I was under the impression that the Foos were even more popular in the UK than in the US. I mean, isn't Oasis a bit washed up, at this point? |

Oasis are just headlining the event. I think there are seven bands playing or something. |
doremi 08.08.2005 11:24 |
I didn't mean that The Foos should or even would support Queen for an entire tour. I meant just like with that UK Festival with Oasis, why not co-headline or guest with Queen for either the New Jersey or especially,... ..the Hollywood Bowl gig, as that area has lots of hard core rock radio and festivals like KROQ and Coachella and such. Think it would be a great show all around. |
PieterMC 08.08.2005 11:27 |
No doubt it would be a good show, but with the length of the Queen + Paul Rodgers setlist there will not be an opening act. I will bet my right nut on it. The band are going to want these concerts to be about them and their return to the US. |
Shay 08.08.2005 11:31 |
Foo Fighters and Weezer are doing a co-headlining tour starting in September and running through the end of October. So they'll be on tour when the Queen gigs come to NJ and CA. |

BUT, IF Queen were to decide on a ''guest'' even for a song or 2 to jam....even with the Foos touring I am CERTAIN, they would make the time. Read this.... link link |

Arlene R. Weiss wrote:It's a nice idea and I guess it would depend on if they have a date scheduled that night to play. I honestly can't see that if the Foo Fighters/Weezer have a concert date scheduled the same night as the Queen show in NJ or CA that the Foos would cancel that gig just to play a couple songs with Queen. That would mean a lot of lost $$ for the promoters plus some very angry Foos/Weezer fans in whatever city they cancelled in. If Queen were a regularly active touring band here, I know I'd be pissed if the situation was reversed and was planning on seeing Queen and Brian cancelled the gig so he could go play with the Foo Fighters for one night.Shay wrote: Foo Fighters and Weezer are doing a co-headlining tour starting in September and running through the end of October.
