IF Queen+Paul Rodgers does tour the USA in the fall, if they decide to have a guest act, or opening act,
..it would be great to have The Foo Fighters.
The Foos will be promoting their new record "In Your Honor" on a USA Tour this fall as well, and while they are "in talks" to do some shows with Weezer, nothing is confirmed, and not necessarily for all of the USA tour dates.
Queen & The Foos are great friends and have collaborated in the past.
It would also be a great way for both Queen to boost their profile (and ticket sales in the USA) to the younger audience here,
and for the Foos to get cred and boost their profile (and ticket sals in the USA) to the adult audience here.
Just a thought. I think alot of fans would go nuts over this. I would.

...except Queen. We all know how much Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins love to kiss their asses.
I don't see that most likely happening since they'll be touring with Weezer.
I know Dave and Taylor personally a little bit (Dave lives in the same neighborhood as my brother), and I can tell you that Taylor is much more the Queen fan than Dave or anybody else in the band.
But, yes, it would be a terrific bill if it happened. As has been pointed out, though, the Foos are touring with Weezer this fall. Which should also be a great bill.
The Foos have NOT yet confirmed their tour with Weezer, and NOT for all of the Foos USA tour dates, plus I have seen major acts touring in the past, make special time for scheduling in a few selected "guest" dates with a band they WANT very badly to guest with.
So if the Foos and Queen are agreeable to it, it could be done, if only for 1 or 2 special shows.
I remember back in the 1980's when Dire Straits was touring both Europe and The USA.
Guess what "unannounced" guest dropped in on quite a few dates to jam WITH them,...Slowhand (aka Eric Clapton)!
I would love to see even Dave Grohl or Taylor Hawkins "drop by" to jam with Queen+Paul Rodgers.
NO- it would not be cool- then we are competing with all the FOO fans for tickets. I love the Foos and will see them seperately.
I just want my QPR with perhaps a newbie opening act. Smaller venues OK with me.

Have you seen the Foos' Brixton Academy show from back in '99? The one Roger and Brian played at? I think they did "Now I'm Here".
I suppose that could retrospecively be considered the first "Queen + Foo Fighters" performance.
Man that would be one cool gig.
But you're right, Taylor is the bigger Queen fan, a very big fan actually. You ever see his "MTV Cribs"? He's got a huge framed print in his house of the News Of The World cover, his first concert was Queen, he 'dropped' his actual name of Oliver for Taylor after our dear Rog. And as for Dave, I know he is a very big fan of Queen as a live act and as of Freddie as the greatest front man ever. Also know he's a big fan of Under Pressure and Get Down Make Love too.
It's cool when other bands you like are fans of your favourite band too.
Foo Fighters management?
On paper they have management, but in effect, they manage themselves. They aren't the sort of band that like to be told what to do, and rather preferto be in control of everything. I know Dave prefers the easy nature of this. If the band wanted to support Queen, they would.
But nothing has been said, so it don't really matter I spose.
As one of my earlier posts stated above, the Foos do not have to be placed in a support position.
See where I discussed how Dire Straits was touring Europe & The USA in the 1980's, and an "unannounced" guest,...that is ERIC CLAPTON, who dropped by on several gigs, to jam WITH Dire Straits.
......Also, this past year, Rod Stewart was doing his USA tour, and guess who dropped by "unannounced" to jam WITH Rod at his Los Angeles gig...Ronnie Wood, where the 2 performed a ton of Faces classic songs...
...(This "guest" appearance by Ron Wood may have benn "PLANNED" too...because)...
The Faces Box Set, "Five Guys Walk Into A Bar", had JUST been released internationally to great acclaim, Ronnie is Rod's old bandmate from The Faces...and...HMMMMMM...
....it was LATER announced that this particular gig...was...taped and recorded for release on DVD!
HMMMMM! But a Very Good HMMMMMM!

This is exactly right. With all matters Foo, Dave is the boss. The band is entirely his baby. Not quite like Robert Smith and the Cure or Trent Reznor and NIN, but pretty close.

Trent Reznor just sued the pants off his former Manager for misappropriating funds or something to that extent..and Reznor won.
Robert Smith also fired Daryl Bamonte the manager of the Cure and Smith fired 2 band members Perry Bamonte (Daryl's brother), and longtime keyboardist Roger O'Donnell.
HMMMMMMMM
