Just read the news on blabbermouth.net "QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS are getting ready to announces shows for later this year in New York City and Los Angeles, with tickets likely to go on sale in July." Looks like only 2 north american dates this year. Would have loved for them to come to Canada but I guess NY will have to do for now! |

Brian sez: "We probably WILL hit Aruba, New York and LA in the Autumn ... .... and some big shows in Japan ... but it's actually not 100 per cent confirmed yet." That's an interesting way of putting it considering that I have already bought and received my tickets to the Queen + Paul Rodgers show in Aruba on October 8, 2005. |
Mr.Jingles 15.06.2005 22:20 |
What I think he meant by saying "NOT CONFIRMED 100%" was about the NY and LA shows. Aruba and Japan are already confirmed since the tickets have already gone on sale. |
Ray D O'Gaga 15.06.2005 22:51 |
That would make sense, wouldn't it? Its a shame Brian didn't just say it that way. Although you'll notice he did use the qualifier "probably" immediately before Aruba, which seems a bit strange when referring to a gig for which tickets are already being sold. Love your R2, btw, Mr. Jingles. |

Love your R2, btw, Mr. Jingles.LOL. I'm surprised you spotted it. It's actually a phone that makes the R2-D2 noises whenever it rings. My parents say that for a while it was funny, but then it got extremely annoying. After a couple of years, I got annoyed by it as well, plus it wasn't a cordless phone. So I replaced it with one of those. I still love my R2 and I like to keep it as a decoration. I recently bought a Yoda that talks. |

I can only support you here. It's annoying that there is always this secrecy around possible gigs. Like people are all millionaires and don't need to plan ahead. You guys actually got priority tickets through the fan club? I received a UK-only phone number to call via the mail the final Friday of the priority sale, and the QFC offices were closed for the weekend by the time the mail arrived, so there was no opportunity to get the correct number to call from outside UK. An oversight, I'm sure, but a bit of a disappointment. Have you gotten help from them for things in the US before? |

It's going to be more than NY and LA. I was just talking to a friend in Peoria, IL who is a Program Director for a classic rock station there. He said the Peoria Civic Center contacted him to see if the station would like to be involved with a Queen+PR show in the Fall, and he said hell yes. So it seems like they'll be doing somewhat smaller markets in the US as well, which is great news. BTW I'm new here. But I've been "lurking" for quite some time. Nice to join in. |
Erin 16.06.2005 12:01 |
I hope there's not any special help for fan club members. I was a member for 10 years, but when there started to be a problem getting every single mag, I never rejoined. If I knew there was something they could do for us, though, I'd shuck out the $29 right now. Frustrated I am... Actual concert dates I need. See Queen I must. Great..now I'M doing Yoda! |

I can't see how this would be financially beneficial. Perhaps someone else can...? Why would they cart the whole stage set-up accross the world (or even build a brand new one) just for, at the most, a handfull of shows in 2 locations? Doesn't this seem odd to anyone else? |
The Stealer 16.06.2005 17:21 |
Peoria???? That would be OK. I will believe it when I hear/see it. I will go-though only a few hours away. Again Please confirm dates. A private Queen show for maybe 300 people? Doubtful. But if Queen did do it, you can be sure it would be unannounced ... Anyone remember Las Vegas? That was hoped for but was not announced ahead of time. |

perhaps not announced rip but as with other shows it was a pretty apparant given that they would do something.... now LA i dont know how many times it was said- be there... dont miss it you will regret it... show with special guests and on and on.... and folks just didnt get it....... a one off in cleveland would be very nice mind you... esp. since we lost the chance for queen for a day however realistically i think we all know the odds of that... |

I can only realistically afford only one junket, and I chose Breakthru. Now, if Queen+ is coming anywhere near Chicago, I will gladly go see them. However, Queen+ is little more than an A+ cover band performing songs that have been previously performed live. Hypothetically, I would prefer seeing a Brian or Roger solo tour with new material than this nostalgia tour. |

I realized the 800 number did not work when I started dialing at 4 am CST. I emailed and then later from work faxed a brief note to OIQFC stating the number given did not work-I faxed at about 3pm London time. About 40 minutes later I received a fax back with 2 alternative numbers-which worked- then it took me about 45 minutes to book 6 shows- you had to do one at a time. Expensive- but worth it in the end. |
