I just want to convey my praise for the song "IT'S LATE." I think it is one of the best songs ever written. (YES, EVER.) Why has it never been number one anywhere? It should be the #2 of BEST QUEEN SONGS! It is the only song I could get some of my anti-Queen friends to like.
My top three ranking:
1. Bohemian Rhapsody
2. It's Late
3. You and I
Where do you rank "It's Late" in the BEST QUEEN SONGS? What other songs are near in ranking for you?
It's Late was always #1 on my top five Queen songs list for years and years...Then suddenly, possibly from the over-exposure I had given it, it slipped to #2, behind Breakthru...But it has always been a gem to me...It never fails to get me to play drums on my dashboard while driving...Great song, and has all the Queen trademarks....
I believe the best part of the song is the 'It's late - yes I know, but don't try and tell me that it's too late' line. It's a classic. Call and response, I believe it's called.

I think Queen was to shy in their single releases.
It's Late is brilliant as are so many of Queen's songs!!
They have so many great songs which were never released as singles. The number one voted song which should have been released as a single and wasn't is.......drum roll....
Was It All Worth It
(Should have been released instead of Scandal)
Another great song which I'd love to hear on this tour and one which I included on the set list on Paul's website.
i agree with KenJ_1986
i dont know if it is the best song ever written
but when i listen to "News Of The World" i listen to that song more than one time
it's a great fuckin'rock song
only queen is able to write that kind of songs
When I first listened to News Of The World I was just a standard Queen fan (classic hits and little more), ans It's Late hit me and conquered me from first moment! I wondered how could such a great song not be worldwide famous like other Queen numbers!
I love that song, but I have so many other favourites that it actually doesn't rate too high on my list. Still, it's great, and I'd probably agree that it's the best on News of the World

I think "You And I" beats out "It's Late". I LOVE that song! Go Deacon go!
Absolutely top class song -
Do you think it would suit Paul's vocals on the tour?
Would it reallly work as a single? It was released as a single in Japan with one verse edited out. Anybody know how it did?

I actually always thought that it sound a bit like Free... And IMO it could really work with Rodgers as a vocalist- it's difficult though, those high notes in chorus... Dunno- would love them to do that one and IMHO- Rodgers is the perfect one to sing it!

Not too well... It didn't even chart in Japan and peaked at 74-th in USofA...
I love that song so much. I think this is a great example of what a great voice freddie has. Its so strong and in a way sort of sexual and i kind of get an orgasim every time i hear because its kind of dirty in a sense but also its a classic.
The singles from the Miracle didn't do brilliantly did they? It's cos it's such a lame album, I think-it doesn't half sound flat and uninspired.
Was it all worth it is just as guilty if you ask me, I think Scandal's probably better. It's certainly a more cohesive and well-written piece of music.
I know what you mean QUEENROCKS_4579, about the orgasm thingy. I always thought that but didn't wanna post it here but you posted exactly what I think, orgasmic.
