Killer Queen and Bo Rhap One of my sister's friends used to listen to many Queen songs, especially KQ and Bo Rhap. She told me this many years later when I began to collect Queen CDs in order of album release. |

It was wierd because i had seen the video for Bo Rhap only about a week before (first queen video i've seen) with my mum and she was like "oh he was so good looking, shame he was gay" and i thought he was pretty hot and then i saw CLTCL and i was like "omg that can't be the same person!" As for the first song i ever heard... either WWRY, WATC or YMBF. |

The I didn't hear of Queen for a few years. when I was 12 i saw IWTBF video....WOW WHAT I LAUGHED :D:D:D:D My dad was telling me then that this was Freddie Mercury and he was gay and he onve listened to that band.... hehe I thought this was so amusing ! |

Its weird for me because growing up I heard "We Will Rock You" "We Are The Champions" "Another One Bites The Dust" "Under Pressure" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" but it wasn't until Freddie had passed away that I knew who Queen was and that they sung all these hits I had heard growing up but never heard nobody say who it was. I would have to say though the song that got me to start liking them was "Radio Ga Ga"............Peace |
superfrodo 05.02.2005 23:24 |
My first Queen experience was probably when I heard "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" on the Mighty Ducks movie back in the '90s...I must have been around 6 or 7 years old. But I didn't become a real Queen fan until a couple Christmases back when I got the Greatest Hits CD as a gift...thank God for that! - Tiff |

The first Queen song I heard would have been We Will Rock You(fast version). A friend had just bought the then newly released album Live Killers. We played it together and I remember thinking that this band cooks hotter than an Indian Curry House...It was no turning back from there..I had to own everything they had ever done and have followed them ever since. Great live band!! Matt |

The first song - Show Must Go On - in 1991. I loved it straightaway, and that's when i became a fan. Then came the videos - Bohemian Rhapsody and Radio Ga-Ga. I totally loved them, especially the clapping part in Radio Ga-Ga. I was 11 then. And then, Greatest Hits 1 and 2, The Miracle, Innuendo, AKOM, etc. I was already a fan, and then i realized, that when i was little, i used to listen to a song, which i liked very much - but i didnt know what it was. And then i realized that it was I Was Born to Love You by Freddie Mercury. :) |

I was born in 1978, when MTV debuted in the Ubited States in 1981, the video for "Crazy Little thing called love" was in heavy rotation. My parents, who told me his name, say that I could be in another room...or playing with toys....if the video came on, I'd stop what I was doing, and say "Freddie"...."Freddie"..."ready Freddie". Fast forward a few years to 1984, I'm six years old...and my cousin and I talk our babysitter into letting us watch the "R" rated movie "Revenge of the Nerds" with her...... well at the end of the movie, when the nerds revolt....and the main nerd gets the hot chic, out cranks "We are the champions". Who my parents tell me the next day is "Queen"....as in "Freddie". Then, around 1984 also WWF professional wrestling was getting popular in the USA, as the whole Hulk Hogan era was starting..... another popular wrestler, "Junk Yard Dog" used "Another One bites the Dust" as his theme song he came out to. I told my dad I wanted 2 cassettes for my birthday...1) I wanted a cassette by "Freddie" that had Crazy and WATC on it. 2) I wanted a cassette that had "AOBTD" on it. Dad just got me the older, black cover greatest hits.....I about needed to strap on a diaper when I found out that Queen did all 3 of my favorite songs as a 6 yr old youngster. I was immediately keen to Bohemian Rhapsody....at 6 years old, I knew all the words. I had all of Queen's albums on cassette before I was 8 years old...and that was 1986. When Wayne's world came out in 1992, all my friends, who knew I was a musician, and big into music were like....."Whose this new band Queen"? I was born in 1978, but I can't think of a time when I wasn't a fan...as I always was. |
