I was watching the simpons tonight and Homer was lying on a bean bag drinking beer and there was a poster of A Night At The Opera on the wall. and the song goes "...I stayed up listening to Queen" And then Homer was in the boat that time singing "I am the champion" Then there was that time when he was singing "Big spender" on the table. What other Queen related simpsons things can you think of? |

Big Spender isn't a proper Queen connection. Queen is just one of the bands who covered it. Simpsons have three Queen connections so far, I think: Champions in the one with that huge fish (General Sherman?), the Opera poster, and You're My Best Friend in one recent (=mediocre) episode. But that doesn't mean Matt is a Queen fan. Those references are put there just in a way that he demonstrates he notices Queen existed, as well as references to tons of other artists and actors/actresses, political celebrities and film characters are included. Btw some Friends/Queen connections: the message in the answerphone of they guys in TOW Ross Moves In ("we will we will call-you-back"), and We Are The Champions at the piano bar in TOW Monica Sings. |

Homer wasn't a Queen fan. He stayed up listening to Queen, but that doesn't say anything. I listen a lot to Blink 182 but that doesn't make me a fan. When I'm drunk I play some Shakira songs in the guitar but I'm not a fan, and I often watch Bangles videos as well, and it doesn't mean anything. Those girls are hot. I mean, were. Now they're in their forties and their good looks haven't been dimminished ... they just dissapeared. |

I'm sure though Homer was a Queen fan in his younger days... I would not stay up listening to a band if I weren't a fan. Also, the poster of A Night At the opera on the wall indicates that. I would not want a poster on my wall of something I would not cherish... So, YES, Homer (at least) was a Queen fan. |

Well anyone playing We are the Champions or We Will Rock You doesn't really have to be a Queen fan because like Brian said People have forgotten that someone actually wrote those songs. They just became such anthems that I don't think many people know that they are Queen songs. hahah funny site btw. That's cool Brian May is a Simpson's fan. And it's cool Matt G is a Queen fan. They have used WATC and WWRY on several occasions, even mixed up into one song (we are the champions, we are the champions, no time for losers, 'coz we are the champions of the world. Mud on your face, you big disgrace) whilst drukenly singing in the shower. Also You're My Best Friend, referenced Queen many times. And had mentioned 'Another One Bites The Crust'. Hey, about this im not pretty sure cos Simpsons episodes are translated into spanish. But in that old chapter when Homer made the guy who stops the cannonball with his stomache( the parody of loolapalooza, or whatever), i guess he sang a little bit of "good old fashioned lover boy", or at least he mentioned the song. The translation in spanish was something like that: - Homer: bueno pero yo soy como dice la cancion , yo soy "un buen amante a la antigua". And re translating this: - Homer: well, as the song says: i'm a good old fashioned lover boy" This could be one possibitly, at least the translators love Queen as well. |

I could see a guest appearance, but I'm not sure a whole show would go over that great in the US. Unless there's a lot of publicity about the tour, in which case this would be the best time to do it. |
