I understand what you're trying to say about being a fan, but some of the values you listed aren't necessarily true. I really don't think we should have to be indiscriminate towards the band. Just because you don't like a song or an album doesn't make you any less of a fan than somebody who loves every single note they've ever recorded. Every band has tracks that aren't as good as others, but saying so doesn't make us bad fans. Sometimes you just have to separate yourself from being loyal to the group for fear of saying anything less than stellar about them and realize that critiquing music isn't a bad thing. And on another note, a lot of people don't always think about loyalty towards a band, or holding vows true in order to be a good fan. Some just listen to the music for the music and don't take it all that seriously. |

Queenette, you simply are your own worst enemy here, you DO have some very valid points, however, your execution in demonstrating these points is of a very harsh lacklustre disposition that renders you side by side with the very thing you are protesting about. If you were to ask ''Why is it so necessary for some people to be so abusive to one another and dismiss elements of Queens work in such a fashion'' then perhaps you might have got some constructive criticism in return?!?!? The problem is is that you have openly depreciated the very community that you voluntarily became a member of with a very argumentative and abusive statement and now you deem it valid to protest against the same form of abuse that you have already delivered yourself! The best advice I can offer is that you take a step back and really think about how you wish to express yourself before doing so because if you are going to give a gung-ho delivery then you should expect a gung-ho response! Im always up for reasonable open debate and I have a feeling that you are more intelligent than you let on, you should however take the time to let that intelligence show through rather than just express a hot-headed abusive response to people that share so many of the same feelings that you do. Well, thats my five cents, in fact Im probably in debt now! but anyway, I just wish you, Queenette (if that is in fact your real name :)), to just take some time in expressing yourself, there are many informative and intelligent people on this board who are more than willing to discuss the problems that you have here but I think you should rrealise that you have now made your bed etc etc... |
