OK you lot lets see if anyone knows the answer to this...
What has the name 'Hercules' got to do with Queen?
No prizes just lets see who can guess.
PS can anyone think of a harder question to set?
Wasn't Hercules one of Elton John's real names? Or did he use it as a a fake name at one point? Elton John performed several times with both Queen and Freddie.
1: The answer is "cats" (as in one of Freddie's).
2: However; the answer could also be Disney - because "Hercules" was a Disney movie released when Queen were signed to the (US Hollywood) Disney label.
3: Before he was stolen by the Romans, the original Greek Herakles was worshipped as a God. The adopted Roman Hercules was also worshipped as a god. Mercury was the Greek messenger of the gods - as well as the lead singer with a little rock combo called Queen.
(Like Mercury, Nike the Greek godess of victory - had tiny "wings" on her ankles - and a laural wreath in her hair. Hence Nike training shoes have the "little wings" - not "ticks" on the side of their footwear. During the Argentinian tour - Freddie wore Nike trainers).
4: Hercules.com - Hercules, a pioneer and market leader of high-performance graphic technologies, producers of high-quality and innovative video and audio cards - the best way to listen to the newly available downloadable Queen (& 4664) backcatalogue (or illegal MP3 downloads).
The problem here is that we can keep giving "correct" solutions - but they could still be "wrong" answers - simply because they are not what you have in mind.
You need to provide more clues if our answers are still unacceptable!
I don't have a harder question, but in true "Have I Got News For You!" fashion; who is the odd one out?
Billy Squier, Elton John, Ian Hunter and Joan Armatrading?
"Billy Squier, Elton John, Ian Hunter and Joan Armatrading"
Option 1: Joan Armatrading. She guested on a Queen record (Don't Lose Your Head) while Queen members guested on the other artists' records.
Option 2: Joan Armatrading, she is the only one for which a Queen member wrote a song (Heaven For Everyone).
Option 3: Joan Armatrading, she is the only one for which a Queen member recorded a song for a project (My Boy for Lullabies with a Difference).
"Billy Squier, Elton John, Ian Hunter and Joan Armatrading"
Hey Good Answers! What can I say? You guys put me to shame - because these were not the answers I was expecting!
I was looking for Elton John.
The reason for this is because, although Roger and John appeared on Elton's "Too Young" and "Angeline" and Brian and Elton both featured with Lonnie Donegan on "Diggin' My Potatoes" - Freddie and Elton never actually appeared on record together.
Freddie of course guests on Billy Squier's "Emotions In Motion", and Ian Hunter's "You Nearly Did Me In" while Joan Armatrading's voice guested (alongside Frddie's) on "Don't Lose Your Head".
I am tempted to disqualify YV for stating the obvious - but hey it is Xmas - so still qualifies as a correct answer!
Nevertheless, I think Pim deserves to win - so he gets to set the next "odd one out"!
Well sorry, all wrong
The answer I was looking for was Hercules is the brand name for the cymbal stands and drum hardware Roger used through most of the 70's and 80's they were Ludwig Hercules stands.
Sorry very boring I know but still there you go, I guess you had to be a drummer to know that!
