I've been to Lyon to the last date of the continental europe tour of Bowie. After a fantastic and very emotional rendition of Under Pressure he had the hall lights turned on, he looked at the sky and said "Freddie, was it good?Did we make it good?". I've seen other shows of the tour, but last night he looked pretty moved after UP
He did something similar in Rotterdam last month. Regarding his bass playing mate Gail Ann Dorsey (who sings the Freddie parts): "I'm sure Freddie would have loved to hear her sing."
Lyon was great I heard... Unbelievable that his last shows had to be cancelled because of a throat infection and now he even managed to sing Life On Mars!! Was his rendition of that song any good?? Would have loved to hear it. It's one of my fav's and he hadn't played it at any of the gigs I attended the past few weeks...
the last time i saw him
was when you called in requesting songs and he played the ones that got the most call in
UP was not one of the chosen...
hope he does it on this side of the pond..
would be nice to see
I love Bowie and am a long-time fan, but I do remember him not really liking Under Pressure at one time. I'm happy he's doing it now and mentioning Freddie.
