Always good to hear there's so much in their perfectly organised archive. Let's hope we'll get to see and hear some more in the (near) future! |
mr mason 17.09.2018 17:30 |
He said a live release next year, lets hope its 'Hammersmith 79'! |
FlorianS 17.09.2018 17:44 |
Thank you very much for bringing this up. No nee Queen Releases decided yet but a Freddie Project in the making...wonder what this could be since bis solo stuff has been released a couple of times now...I cannot believe that a rerelease of Mr. Bad Guy would meet to much public interest. |
QueenAllTheWay 17.09.2018 18:00 |
@mr mason Or possibly a two or three-disc release of the three nights at Paris 1979 (that's if the first gig was ever filmed), but I think that's a little off my head. |
Chinwonder2 17.09.2018 18:34 |
He mentions that it would be visually stunning, possibly some of the 'Live Killer's stuff as it was filmed rather than taped? :) As well as Hammersmith of course! -Chin |

It'll be a reissue of the Bacalona album remixed by William Orbit. Or another compilation but this time with the new Man from Manhattan placed before love kills in the tracklist. |

Three nights in Paris? Separately? I doubt. As compilation of three only . Hammersmith’79? If I correctly remember multitrack are missing |

25:30 That's interesting. First time I hear Brian has a diary. It seems a lot of precious info is in there for a die-hard fan. |

There is a really gorgeous badger sett near here and I plan to take some stereo photos of it later. Oh, and Freddie explained, in exhaustive and exhausting detail, just what that song of his is all about, Hungarian Rhapsodies or something, but let's be frank, no one will ever care about that, so I'm not going to write any of it down." |

>25:30 That's interesting. First time I hear Brian has a diary. 21st April 1992 "John's a wanker." 29th May 1993 "Had a fabulous blow job from Shelley Preston; I've booked her in for one prior to every show and asked that she calls me Doctor Brian. I like that." 26th July 2018 "Those fucking Queen fans are still banging on about Anthologies and Earls Court. I've spent the whole day listening to all sorts of out-takes, rough cuts and works in progress from 1971 'till 1979 and there's absolutely masses of material down in that very expensive I've had built on the quiet; don't want anyone finding out about that, do we. Tonight, Anita, Kerry and I are inviting Adam 'round for a very special private screening of the Earls Court footage - it's been professionally mixed and mastered to Ultra 4K standard with a stunning stereo sound from the original multi-tracks. I've told Adam that it's primarily for him to get a grip on Freddie's early/mid-period stage craft, but what he doesn't know is that Anita's really got this thing about him. She's been having me position that mobile phone I use for the selfie-stick thing in such a way that she gets uninterrupted coverage of his bum for 2 hours. We'll dress him up in one of Fred's old jock-straps and let her have her WICKED way with him. The trade off is that Kerry and I get it on whilst on top of that inflatable of John we released (and re-captured) at Wembley '86 - oh, must schedule the re-issue of that with Jim next week! - covered in loganberry jelly." |

There are excerpts from Brian's diary in the book from the big Rainbow '74 box. So, it's a known fact Brian has a diary. Also, the big FM box from 2000 was a cd-box. So a vinyl reissue could very well be considered. I wouldn't mind having the big box again, with a couple more tracks (like the live tracks from Time, Freddie's last performance) and the Freddie albums on coloured vinyl. Really curious about what that Queen item that has never been considered before could be… Some people in this topic have spoken about a live release but does Greg say it's a live item? |
dudeofqueen 18.09.2018 15:07 |
on my way up, re: >Really curious about what that Queen item that has never been considered before could be Nothing. It's fat ole Greggy Boy's way of getting talked about on Queenzone and then making a fleeting visit to tell everyone here how much he has suggested to ole Beechy Boy, then how much he hates QZ and that he's "doing his best for the fans". |
Michael Scapp 18.09.2018 16:18 |
As far as the "live project" I guess I just assumed Live Killers on vinyl - hopefully with one or two extras |
Michael 18.09.2018 16:19 |
I'm surprised that Queen approves such terrible releases as the On Air box set - which features excerpts from concerts, instead of entire shows, as well as interviews that probably won't be listened to more than once, if at all. If these sorts of products are aimed at hardcore fans, which I suspect they are, then why are they half-baked? And now I hear that the Bohemian Rhapsody movie soundtrack will feature SOME (not all) of the Live Aid performance, with fade-outs in between tracks. What is the purpose of doing this? Makes no sense to me. |
matt z 18.09.2018 17:15 |
Yes, Michael. ...it's truly moronic. No "vision" or completion involved makes it absurd. |

Can't bear to hear that voice anymore. When I hear that GB talk it's sound like a pile of monotone uninterested shit coming out of someone. No jokes, No laughing, no nothing. Even when Nick makes a nice move to get the interview going no reponse at all. Please give that man a long sabbatical. What I noticed was a archivist tellin how stunned everybody was how the archived was build up and sorted out. ( he mentioned it a couple of times) . What a jerk. And not to forget the re-re-re-re realease of all the studio albums of course. And wow... Live at Wembley on three LP's instead of two. |
Plengel 19.09.2018 19:11 |
I'll just wait and see what they'll come up with this time. I'm guessing a re-release of the Mr. Bad Guy album would be the most realistic since they talked about it before. I really like the album, but I don't expect they will come up with something really new, maybe just add one ore two remixes that weren't on the FM Solo Boxset. 5 Disc Jazz SE would be great, including the original album, a CD with outtakes and demo's plus audio and Video of one of the concerts they did to promote the album, but I think that's just wishfull thinking. |
Penetration_Guru 21.09.2018 23:06 |
It makes no difference what Greg says will be released next one/two/five years. We know that times change, stuff gets shelved, and other stuff gets brought up that then gets done in a massive rush and spun as a fantastic new thing. Whatever he's said now will just get people over excited, speculating wildly, and then whining massively at /about Greg when it doesn't actually happen. |
cmsdrums 22.09.2018 10:45 |
Greg had been silent here for the last few months since the movie promo stuff all kicked in. As a result of his claim in the official press release that everything in the movie is 100% accurate I’m not surprised though, but not sure if his absence is through being sensible or cowardly! |
