Exactly what I was expecting, a lot of you guys were getting over excited, state of shock will land on a Jacko release, we'll never hear victory. The other gems in the archive we may one day hear on a box set. Who says you can't flog a dead horse ! I quite like the cover but I won't be buying the album, I'll download the ''new''tracks. |
pcgenius9 19.09.2014 02:22 |
The new songs are being played on BBC Radio 2 right now in the UK, including There Must Be More To Life Than This with Michael Jackson. |

Love kills disappointed, I thought they would use an unused vocal track, gutted. : ( |
pittrek 19.09.2014 03:33 |
Well what did you expect? It has been told a million times it will be as boring ballad compilation with some remixes and 1-2 "new" songs |
MrFunster 19.09.2014 03:34 |
And what about the reworked tracks...what kind of versions? |
pittrek 19.09.2014 03:50 |
Wow, the More To Life remix SUCKS : link |

Let Me In Your Heart Again is actually pretty : link |

Wow. If that's the actual tracklisting I won't be wasting my money on this. |

I honestly can't quite believe quite how bad it is. What they're doing is actually really damaging. I can't talk for a guy that's been dead for 23 years but if I could I would say he would not be overly impressed. Let Me In, I like it for what it is and welcome it, but Love Kills and TMBMTLTT are both really, really bad. I can't believe people have listened to these and deemed them to be fit for release. Anything on the 1992 Freddie Mercury Album beats these. I'm totally bummed out. All I want to hear now is early versions and demos, Brian and Roger should be banned from re-working anything. |
TomP63 19.09.2014 07:04 |
Banned, now that's a bit harsh isn't it? |
Jekaling 19.09.2014 08:44 |
Let me in your heart again makes me realise why I became a Queen fan ( back in 1979 after hearing Save Me for the first time ) Though I am dissapointed with the other two songs, I still hope that the other songs are demos, outtakes, etc. |
pittrek 19.09.2014 08:50 |
I just heard Love Kills - link - and it sucks too :-( So from 5(?) planned new songs we have just 3, and 2 of them are much worse than their "original" versions. Another Queen product I'm skipping :-( Well at least we had the Rainbow release this year ... |
gooddrills 19.09.2014 09:00 |
TomP63 - No it's not harsh, they only had 3 songs to work with, and the two that were already good they made worse. For all I know Let Me In could have been better in demo form. I think they're out of touch to be honest. They were once great, no two ways about it, but they continue to churn out shit. I actually take offence when they do it with material that features Freddie. I loved Made in Heaven, they did a great job, but this really is sub standard. How can they get it so wrong? |
emrabt 19.09.2014 09:06 |
This is something we should politely inform Brian about. That things have been made worse. |
emrabt 19.09.2014 09:09 |
And that is probably the reason Michael Jacksons people have been reluctant to let Queen release anything, because they heard it. I mean, say what you like about the posthumous Jackson Albums, at least the people mixing them turned them into competent radio friendly songs, TMBMTLTT has vocals totally mistimed with the music. |
gooddrills 19.09.2014 09:19 |
I couldn't agree more, it just sounds like two vocal tracks that should never be put together have been put together. I just don't understand how anyone listened to it and said ''Oh yeah, that's a winner right there". |
Penetration_Guru 19.09.2014 09:22 |
In their (VERY limited) defence, it isn't their preferred mix either. Quite why it's being released is therefore a bit of a surprise. |
juan1921 19.09.2014 10:04 |
Well, I'm most definitely not purchasing this. I'm not going to say they shouldn't release it. It's their band, so they can do as they please. The actual dissapointment is in seeing that this doesn't seem to work in any level. I mean, this is not good enough to be considered a "new" release, but it's not an anthology-esque edition either. After seeing the Rainbow Blu-ray, with Brian playing amazing guitar (with great sound too), and great vocals, this comes as quite a dissapointment. It looks like Brian, in the studio, has become not more than a stereotyped character, with no new ideas. Let's hope we can get some other 70's live releases. |

The well has run dry, the new version of Love Kills is very poor, still at least we had the Rainbow which was ace. |

It's Mr Orbit's mix. Both BM and RT has stated in the BBC2 studio that the vocals are "under" [in the mix]. So we can assume that Brian's mix doesn't sound that way. Disappointment is an understatement. I had hoped for the QUEEN demo versions spruced up of 'More To Life', 'Love Kills', 'Man Made Paradise'.....and perhaps 'She Blows Hot and Cold' and a couple of others. The original 'Too Much Love Will Kill You' slightly reworked, weaving both Freddie and Brian LVs would have been a treat. Heck, even 'Time' and 'In My Defence' for those unaware of those two wonderful songs. And do it all on one disk. It's almost a 'Queen+Freddie Mercury' type of effort. The good(?)... well, there's 'Let Me In'. Also, 'A Winter's Tale', 'Spread Your Wings', and 'Forever' finally made it onto a 'GH' package. |
Caviar and Cigarettes 19.09.2014 16:06 |
What a letdown! the whole thing is just a compilation album with 3 new songs? what a RIPOFF!! I was hoping for a good album, but i guess not. |
andyb1968 19.09.2014 17:04 |
They seem to have no concept of their legacy, and what a superb album this might have been, the mixes are amateurish, William Orbit ! Give me a break !! When I first saw that mentioned I feared the worst, much better remixes on the great pretender album, maybe its time to do that with Queen tracks, give them to top producers ala Nile Rodgers and bring Queen into the 21st century, something the kids can relate to, and start a next generation of fans, now that's something Freddie would be up for. |

But it will sell you watch. I only want LMIYHA. The other two tracks are disappointing drivel |
EDWOOD 19.09.2014 20:01 |
What they could have done is put THEIR preferred version of TMBMTLTT on the 2nd disc and maybe an unaltered version of LMIYHA on there as well to at least give us some incentive to buy the 'deluxe' 2 CD album. Now what incentive is there to spend the additional money to get that?! The 3 unreleased songs are all on the 1 disc edition. Do these guys think commercially in any way, shape or form? It's not like there isn't the space on the discs - most of us don't need to have the umpteen versions of the same songs. Only if there is some 'new' takes of already released songs (like it indicated in the press release) is there any reason why I would opt for the 2 discs. Maybe there will be the piano version of Is This The World We Created on there that has been long rumoured. There bloody needs to be anyway! |

Okay.............just heard Let Me In and Love Kills..............I agree with the general consensus on Let Me In.............very nice! And I gotta say, I DISagree with the opinions of Love Kills..........I'm totally liking it! Kinda wish they had 'rocked it up' a tad more, but it's excellent! Very underwhelmed by the tracklisting, though....... |

Gary Taylor stated via facebook that we can expect alternative takes and re-takes of well-known tracks !! So.... maybe they DIDNT'd waste these 3 years :) Of course, releasing album consisting only of unreleased/finished demos could top the Rainbow release. Cheer up guys and have faith in Gary's words. He surely listened to the album and if he's right, than this album is worth buying. |

Despite all negativity regarding "Queen Forever" (yes, it's a compilation, only three new tracks etc.) I quite like the concept / the song selection. And the new tracks are good (the MJ duet) or just stunning (the other two new ones). And I still hope for some good reworked "old" tracks. By the way, I did a small write up in my blog: link |
