Even if they play just one chord, it will be stunning to see the band on stage again. |

Mmm, sounds interesting. What's the story with Roger and his deafness? I've not heard anything, since it was mentioned a few months ago. Is it true, or what? I mean, his album is finished and now a Cross gig, so how can that happen? Does anyone know? |
inu-liger 23.07.2013 14:09 |
Roger isn't deaf, however his hearing has deteriorated over the years down to the point that he has to use hearing aides, which I think also explains his very noticeably slower pacing on the drums during the Q+AL tour last year (he screwed up quite a bit on that tour if you listen closely to the bootlegs!) Hopefully it's not as bad as say Pete Townshend's! |
Ale Solan 23.07.2013 14:27 |
a short set of The Cross would be WAY more interesting than Queen + AL, Kerry + Brian, Extravaganza and many other latest "releases" |

Haha, no Brenski, it wasn't. I never even thought of that. Put it down to bad phrasing, er, a bit like Glambert, I suppose. |

Most exciting news to me in ages ! Bravo Roger, Spike, Josh & all for making this unexpected reunion possible :) |
Pingfah 24.07.2013 04:48 |
Shucks, and I thought I went to the last ever Cross gig. I think they should pay for me to go to this one as compensation. Of course I will be there. |
cmsdrums 24.07.2013 05:15 |
It would be good to get official confirmation as to whether it is a substantial 'full' set (45 mins minimum, hopefully more) by The Cross, or if it is just a couple of songs in the middle of a usual SAS Band gig with other artists. I would like to think that they wouldn't sell the tickets on the back of a 'The Cross Reunion' if it is only a cameo. I have asked Spike the question on his FB announcement so I hope they will disclose this - ideally maybe a first half of the show with the usual guests etc... and then a second half with The Cross? |
Pingfah 24.07.2013 05:24 |
Would they really go to the effort of getting everybody together, especially Roger who SHOULD have both a solo album and Queen business to deal with this December, for a few songs? I hope it will be a full set, I also would think twice if it was anything less than 45 minutes. Think i'll take my Blue Rock vinyl along, see if I can get it signed. |

Pingfah wrote: Would they really go to the effort of getting everybody together, especially Roger who SHOULD have both a solo album and Queen business to deal with this December, for a few songs?Think about it this way... The band consists of: - one guy who arranges these annual shows - one semi-retired millionaire who's desperate to play live with practically anyone (and possibly has a new album to flog) - one guy who get's charity work from the aforementioned millionaire - the two other guys who's only contact with music is listening to the radio in the corner pub Don't get me wrong. I'd really like it if there was a full show, and I would love it if there was a box set with all the rarities, BUT the odds are overwhelmingly in favour of this performance being nothing more than a ploy to sell more tickets. |

I hope he just plays Nazis and leaves the stage. |

the most interesting news since paul rodgers I hope they film it and includes it in the inevitable RT/Cross Best Of (which he has sort of mentioned was in the works...) |

My guess set list: Top Of The World MA Cowboys & Indians New Dark Ages Ain't Put Nothing Down Sister Blue or Power To Love Man On Fire Final Destination Stand Up For Love |
Apocalipsis_Darko 27.07.2013 20:16 |
Anyone knows how to buy a ticket outside UK by Paypal for example? And of course, I would love if it is a The Cross show, not SAS with The Cross cameo... |
soxtalon 28.07.2013 06:41 |
Reportedly the Cross were playing a 45 minute set within the show... |
astoria 29.07.2013 11:08 |
Got a ticket, yay!!! Anyone else from here going? |
Pingfah 29.07.2013 16:26 |
Yep I am going. Took me and a friend all day to get through but I got one, they had sold out unless you are in the fanclub by 5.30. I assume that's just the SAS band allocation to sell themselves though and the venue will have more. |
DLCVinnuendo 29.07.2013 17:55 |
the people that will go, will see roger, not the cross, roger, show your solo things in the show |

To be honest, I would love to listen Heaven for everyone, songs from Blue Rock and Mad, Bad and dangerous to Know, and some Queen songs. I got the ticket today. |

Not a bad gig, and I made it to the front row. Roger didn't have any new purple shoes, but he did have some red lurex ones! 'I'm old', he joked, when he missed out a song in the set. He also missed catching his tambourine. Drumsticks went out to right of stage, I was to the left! The set was about an hour long. |
cmsdrums 08.12.2013 07:50 |

To be honest, not the best concert of the year in my opinion. He didn't sang three songs in The Cross set list and I would preffer other set list, but this are only my opinions... it was ok, and very emotive listen Heaven for everyone. |
Agr123456 08.12.2013 20:14 |
"He didn't sang three songs" Really? Which ones? I can suppose Ain't Put Nothing Down, Dirty Mind and ... Liar maybe? |
Pingfah 09.12.2013 02:11 |
Umm yes, but not in that order. How did you know? Personally I thought he should have played the whole set too, especially as two of those are really good tracks, but we still got 10 songs with Roger (including the Xmas song), which considering the amount of other stuff they managed to pack in to the gig was pretty good going. And Man on Fire, I mean come on, what a great bonus. |
A Word In Your Ear 09.12.2013 02:22 |
It was a fantastic show, the only thing that I thought was missing, was that Roger did not play Rhythm Guitar "At All" Like he used to & also he didn't Have a go behind the the second Drum Kit, like he used to (& the opportunity was there, because Johnny's Kit was empty all the time Josh was on his kit.) Apart from that I could not fault it, even when Clayton, Peter Sang Lead vocals on "Aint Put Nothing Down" & "Liar" & Spike, well.....Tried to sing "Dirty Mind" did not spoil the enjoyment.. It was 21 years ago I last saw "The Cross" Live & was well worth the long wait for Saturday's Gig. |
cmsdrums 09.12.2013 02:50 |
Roger didn't sing 'Liar' or 'Dirty Mind'?? Blimey - what a let down. Even more disappointing that he then didn't hop onto drums/perscussion for 'Liar', especially as he used to on that track 'back in the day'. |
Agr12345 09.12.2013 05:09 |
Pingfah wrote: Umm yes, but not in that order. How did you know?I supposed Clayton, Peter and Spike would sing one song each, Ain't Put Nothing Down was easy to suppose, Dirty Mind more or less too, and finally Liar because if Peter could sing one song, this one was a single |
Wijnand 09.12.2013 05:48 |
What a great concert! Loved it! |
RMT Fan 16.12.2013 15:39 |
Because Liar is his (Peter's) song he sang it (they all three sang their songs) The show was fantastic anyway, although it missed my beloved Feel the Force and Heartland. The best was Final Destination and In Charge of My Heart. |
