Eagle vision tv is a television distribution company, this has nothing to do with the DVD and will probably just be an edited tv only version. Garbage have a concert listed on there with run times of 60 & 90 mins, the DVD release will run at almost 120 mins. I'd love to know where you get your info ghostwithasmile |

Well done. You've posted a picture of a tape from 1977. Now, back to my point, why would they record the soundcheck when they couldn't even be bothered to record the encore? The former was never going to be aired so why record it? Now I hope you're right. For that to be the case, you would have to be informed by someone working in the archives or seen it with your own eyes. So far, you haven't claimed either of these things. Or you might be making it up, as many attention-seekers have done here in the past. I take the sensible option of not believing everything I read on Queenzone. But again, if you are right, it's a very interesting find. We will find out soon enough I suppose. |

PLausible reasons are : This was a live shoot, so no editing room, they record as long as the live broadcast would last.Further recording would have been useless for the live broadcast. or : It was a Union thing : the camera crew were not allowed to film after so many hours , or film after a specific time given by their Union. (please note , that GB was never invaded or occupied in ful, though their biggest enemy were the Unions,a powerfull unarmed army!) These are plausible reasons why it was not recorded. But now we don't know the specific reason. It should be with a 99% certaincy one of those 2 reasons. |

You will have 100's of those reels... This will take a while before the total thing is investigated, labeled and proparly stored away for further use.... There is still no definite release date for this product. How could there be: it isn't finished yet. The Press release that sparked this, was merely something put together by Eagle Rock for promo which was put out, mistakenly, a good deal too early. Rainbow WILL happen, but not this Spring. I couldn't tell you when because I don't know. Nobody knows. But we have to finish it first, and obviously we will. It is not unprecedented for a Press Release to go out early, at the wrong time, accidentally, and/or for it to contain misinformation... such as that the Rainbow concerts were "filmed". They were NOT filmed, they were shot on 2" video tape. Hope that helps. GB |

I think the term 'filmed is always going to be miscontrued when referring to 'capturing' concerts on visual media; most people will use the term 'filmed' simply to mean 'recorded', without any intended insinuation or confirmation as to the media that it was recorded on. Equally, in cases like the Rainbow, although it is confirmed as being recorded on video tape, no-one will refer to the concert as having been 'videoed'. Heck, I record TV shows onto my Sky HD digibox all the time, and still tell my wife 'I've taped it', so until we get some concrete official word like Greg's above (eg 'Rainbow gig, recorded on 2" video tape') for any concerts existing in visual format, there will still be some ambiguity as to the medium it was recorded on. |

It's only with nth generation copies that it starts getting uncertain. :) |

sadly, it's been a long time since I put my "sceptic" mode on. when I read / hear something that has the words "Queen / solo member + boxset + interesting stuff" together ... well, I simply can't believe it. |

It's this (in)famous QPL policy that has made us all very skeptical and distrustful. But we shouldn't lose hope - the best is yet to come. |

Are there any, more specific information, about the contents of Rainbow DVD? Eagle Rock advertisement stated something about 60min version. I just hope they can retain the whole concert and get rid of the studio overdubs, to make it seem more live. |
inu-liger 03.05.2013 03:28 |
ploughman, please see GB's post on page 7 of this topic (the first post you'll see on that page) |

I try to see things in a more positive way. The Rainbow DVD/BluRay WILL be released as Greg stated. It's being finished. We already have the Hammersmith 75 finished with interviews from Brian and Roger. So, we already know that this two concerts will be released. And i think that this is great news, and it's better than to know nothing al all. And for this i think that QP deserves an applause. Great news! It shows a difference in attitude towards the fans wich i think deserves a mention. |

The FM box was stunning. wasn't GB in charge of that? ;) I've loved the live dvds (but how they haven't managed to put the QPR dvds on blu ray is beyond me....), and even though the bonus EPs were way too short, they had alot of good stuff on them. People complain about re-releases, but that's natural when they change record companies. getting wembley night 1 was a HUGE deal for me anyways. also; I see complaining about the upcoming FM tribute re-re release. I don't get that. of course they would want to have the product on the best possible medium? studio albums have been on LP, MC, CD and download.....and whatever format comes next, the catalouge will be released there too... (having said that - where are the QPR blu rays?!) |

So, no sound check then in the official release. Still no real idea why anyone might think it was filmed or exists at all. Holly2003 wrote: Well done. |
