Haven't been here in a long time. Miss you guys ;). There's poll on your home page and Adam is winning by a long shot! Must be all the Glamberts who belong to Queenzone. And just a little reminder of vocal brilliance. |

Hello again someonewholikesadam. GratefulFan was talking about this recently, in fact. She linked to a thread on an Adam Lambert forum where the "Glamberts" were teaming up to vote on every single poll on the Internet having to do with Lambert. Of course, one of the many links was to the QueenZone poll. Now, I remember seeing that poll there a few months ago, and although I forget what it looked like at the time, it most certainly did not look like it does now. Therefore, I'm quite positive that very many of those votes came from Lambert fans who saw the link on the thread and voted over and over and over again. I doubt there are very many Glamberts who actually come here on a regular basis (that is, more often than to just vote on one little poll). On a somewhat different note, I'm pretty sure I've asked you this but didn't get much of a response, are you actually a Queen fan or just an AL fan who only comes on here because of AL. I'm just curious, not trying to be judgmental. If you aren't real familiar to Queen, might I suggest you check out more of their music? :) |

Hi Waunakonor. I come here to goad Queen fans ;). I like the popular Queen songs (after all, I am 53), but I am not a diehard fan like you all. I'd never heard Dragon Attack until Adam sung it and now I love it! In fact, Brian tweeted Adam and suggested that it may be a good single for him! He just performed it with his own band at his last concert. |

Had never listened to this Lambert chap before so I figured, what the hell. The first two words that came to mind were "supremely" and "underwhelming". |
GratefulFan 21.02.2013 11:24 |
The poll is being hammered right now. 9532, 9533, 9534.. Happens several times a day; around lunch hour EST is a reliable time. They'll do 100 a time, or go to some arbitrary goal of the next half percentage point. Glamberts are exactly what happened to this poll. See this thread: link There have been more than 7000 votes for Lambert cast since the 10th of February. And there are less than 12,000 votes in total on a poll that has been running for months. 9559, 9560, 9561 .... Where will she stop this hour I wonder? On one hand, it's just a poll and it doesn't matter. On the other hand, Glamberts have no investment in this site and don't contribute yet have no qualms completely spamming the poll, knowingly cheating the one vote intention. Clearly no respect for their fellow music fans, no interest in the Grammys unless their beloved is there by admission, bragging on only following Lambert. But these are the people trying to manage public perception and the music industry in their flannel jammies. It reflects terribly on Lambert that this culture has been allowed to flourish on his official site, and each of these "achievements" is utterly meaningless. |
GratefulFan 21.02.2013 11:56 |
Oh look. Stopped at 9660 votes. 83.5%. Rarely a good thing to be that predictable... |
waunakonor 21.02.2013 13:05 |
Huh. How often do you check up on this, GratefulFan? I wonder what would happen if Glamberts started spamming my polls for some reason. Not saying they should. |
BRIANMAYCOLLECTOR 21.02.2013 13:25 |
the truth is that as a fan of queen for more than 30 years, do they propose to replace Adam Lambert as Freddie seems absurd, does not fill the shoes of Freddie at all! and his style seems opposite, respect for those who like their pop queen mainstream but is a rock band, and if I had to choose a pop singer in that case I think George Michael would be a lot more successful desicion, do not want to insult lambert fans, but it has nothing to do with queen |

waunakonor wrote: Huh. How often do you check up on this, GratefulFan?For the last several days, almost every time I visit. LOL @ me. :) Having argued in the past that this is precisely what these people do, to much resistance, there is a strange satisfaction in watching it happen right before your eyes. In a bemused, witnessing a car wreck in slow motion kind of way. Beyond that I've always had an amateur but serious interest in human behaviour and the behaviour and dynamics of groups. And the Glamberts are a weird group with all kinds of weird behaviour completely normalized. Again, car wreck fascinating. Which is not to say that they're not perfectly lovely, intelligent people and passionate and engaged fans. But jeez... |
rubens 21.02.2013 20:43 |
BRIANMAYCOLLECTOR, you said it all. We are not taking about Michael Jackson here. Queen are (were) a rock band who used to try different sounds. But still, it were (are) a rock band. Please, look what Lambert did to Seven Seas of Rhye and the order hard tones that he sang. He didn't fit at all. Imagine what would happen if he tryed to sing Ogre battle or Modern times rock n'roll! Oh the vibrato horror. Glamberts, Adam can be the best there is at what he do, but what he do is not rock. |
someonewholikesadam 21.02.2013 23:43 |
Dear Grateful Fan, Thank you for all the compliments :) P.S. I do not visit that site. We have much more fun and make much better use of our time at Idolforums. P.P.S. You are right about the spamming (of which I am completely innocent). But you have to admit, for what it's worth, the Glamberts sure do wield a lot of power. You should see what we do when Adam asks us to donate to a specific charity. Instead of votes going up, the $$$$ go up very quickly. We are a passionate bunch and that's not a bad thing! For one man to engender so much unadulterated passion and in so many people he must be doing something right. And to defend my fellow Glamberts, you seem to look upon us with pity and disdain instead of admiration and jealously. Why? Wouldn't you like to be so inspired by another person to do good and have fun?? I dare say our only flaw is trying to will others to embrace the fabulosity that is Adam Lambert. |
someonewholikesadam 22.02.2013 00:01 |
And, Grateful Fan, I am now on a roll. This post has nothing to do with Adam's ability to sing with Queen. It is in response to your car-wreck fascination with Glamberts. Have you ever heard of the Oprah effect? What did Oprah ever do to gain such a passionate fanbase? When she mentioned a book or a product, the sales went through the roof. It was her extraordinary gift to be able to really connect with people and inspire them. Adam has this same ability, albeit with a much smaller fanbase. He is so much more than a singer and entertainer extraordinaire to his Glamberts. To Glamberts, he is funny, intelligent, articulate, handsome, kind, generous, real, and someone who stands up for what he believes in and walks the walk in his life. And, coincidentally, he shares' Oprah's birthday. |

You sound like a member of The Hitler Youth, only more camp. |

Ok, no disrespect intended however, this is a Queen fan site. Go on your merry way and support AL. I do not like him..not in a box with a fox, in a house with a mouse, not here nor there..I do not like him anywhere! As lovely as I'm sure AL can be as a person or pop singer, I am a Queen and Freddie Mercury fan. I did not enjoy his performances with remaining Queen no matter how much Brian and Roger enjoyed it. For the final time, I would rather see them do the songs by themselves than to ever see AL with them again. Their choice, and if it happens, I don't have to see it or listen as it looks and sounds like an visual/auditory assault to me! GF, I did find your poll research fascinating. |

Adam Lambert sucks, more synthetic, producer-based music is the last thing the world needs. His fans remind me of Justin Bieber-maniacs, completely fanatical and beyond all reason. Pity and disdain do indeed seem more appropriate emotions than admiration or jealousy. |
Pingfah 22.02.2013 08:26 |
Performing with Queen is the best thing Adam Lambert has ever done. That said, I still thought it was shit. |
BRIANMAYCOLLECTOR 22.02.2013 09:24 |
so is! adam lambert sucks! and if the fans please do not write here! QUEEN fans here are not of Adam Lambert that is closer to Justin Timberlake than queen, please! enough to tarnish the legacy of queen! the biggest rock band in history! |
Queenfred 22.02.2013 11:11 |
If Brian or Roger keep feeling this need to collaborate with people, I just wished they'd do it with somebody more interesting ...like Mark Lanegan or Josh Homme for example (and of course, dropped the "+ Queen" moniker). |
john bodega 23.02.2013 02:09 |
Brief change of topic, but how hilarious is Brian's soapbox post about the Russian meteor??? Hahaha. He's offering CONDOLENCES and it didn't even kill anyone! Fucking brilliant. I swear he's actually losing his mind - here's a tip though, Brian. If a space rock doesn't kill anyone, you're allowed to laugh about it. |
