I saw it was on telly the other day and not having seen it before I wanted to know other peoples views on it
Personally I prefer concerts from the late 70' s onwards
It was a decent enough concert, maybe because it was highlights only it didnt feel long enough or have enough about it for me to be totally impressed if you know what I mean
How could anyone not like a 1975 show recorded for posterity? There's so little early footage available, that in itself makes it invaluable. The tracklist and performances are great, especially for older Queen fans. Perhaps those more used to the 80s pop era songs might find it a bit 'cold'. March of the Black Queen live --- wow!
A standard concert, in my opinion. The setlist misses quite some songs which were usually played during the ANATO tour. One of the best versions of Brighton Rock, though.
I think it's good.
It must have been amazing going to see Queen on Christmas Eve!
I guess they weren't ready for a full tour yet as Bo Rhap was the only Opera song featured - and in a very unusual version at that!

This was actually at the end of the UK leg of the ANATO tour - they had already been playing Sweet Lady and The Prophet's Song, but they didn't make the cut ... they only got an hour of material for TV, so choices had to be made.

And Liar IMO
I loved the concert, even if it was edited and i love the new sound mix.Does anyone know where i can get hold of an audio only copy of the concert?Id love to get hold of this.I have a copy of the gig before the new mix,but i much prefer the new mix which was shown on BBC?Does anyone know where i can get hold of a copy? Thanks folks.
A very overrated concert. The band was nervous, freddie and brian were both ill, the setlist was too short and had lots of important tracks omitted, like flick of the wrist.
Talking just about video footage, earls court 77 blows it alway and if we include audio records, it can't even be compared to Tokyo 5-1-75.

Boston 1976 is a much better choice to introduce people to. Full set-list, great crowd, every band member sounds strong, Roger's drumming is excellent on Liar, no nervousness, etc.
If I had to pick 5 shows from the 70s to introduce somebody to Queen, that would be one of them.

I agree. It was a great show but I don't think it would make a good official release because it is way too short of a gig.
Yeah, but they've done all the work so it might as well come out. Throw on some Hyde Park or Japan extras and I'll be a happy guy. Although Hyde Park in full would be preferable.
I never REALLY liked it. You can see and hear they're nervous at the beginning, but it goes better and better, and in the second half of the concert they're the Queen we all know and love.
I think the main reason why this concert is so popular is the quality - it's the BEST looking 70's footage we have
I recall it first being shown on the BBC. I was 9 years old and Bo Rap was in the middle of its sensational 9-week run of being the top selling single in the UK (back when that used to mean something). I watched it with my 14 year old brother and we were both only interested in hearing Bo Rap! The concert's success and popularity in the UK is almost entirely tied in both with Bo Rap and also nostalgic affection for The Old Grey Whistle Test and 'whispering' Bob Harris. That said, I doubt few non-Queen fans below a certain age even know this concert exists.
With it being broadcast on radio so many times over the decades, and the video being one of the most bootlegged Queen concerts ever, it's not one I can get excited over anymore, especially as this new version is edited and has less footage than the original broadcast!
Christ. I hope when they release it on DVD it's in 4:3 and is the full original broadcast.
