Footage does exist, just seen it at the exhibition. Quality isn't perfect, but hey it's out there after all. |

Couple of telesnaps ;) link link Looks like Brian's playing a Les Paul Sunburst rather than his Red Special. |
guild93 25.02.2011 17:13 |
Wow! Maybe someone can film the screen with an Iphone! :-) |
guild93 25.02.2011 17:25 |
Interesting observation: Brian is playing a Les Paul guitar which makes it a separate performance from the one discussed in this thread: link |
GinjaNinja 25.02.2011 18:05 |
I guess that they recorded two performances, after all there were three versions done of SSOR. |

We had to sit on this a while without saying anything. The version of NIH at the exhibition is actually the Xmas '45' programme footage. |
pittrek 26.02.2011 03:31 |
Love it. I hope it gets an official release very soon |

Wow... Roger really did hate miming. They're playing an energetic song and he's playing it like Killer Queen. Thanks for posting the clip. |

It looks like the instrumental section, as Freddie is singing "don't I love you so." |

Kamenliter wrote: Amazing to see this footage...but what happens at the end of this clip with the clouds suddenly appearing? Hopefully the video is complete..? It's not complete - I think it cuts to clouds and then goes into them arriving in Japan for the first time, if I remember correctly. |

Hmm...I wonder if it's just edited like that for the exhibition or if they do in fact have the full video in their possession. I'm figuring they must have the whole thing. |

so this short clip not come from 45 program (Granada TV) but TOTP (BBC), aired 30th January '75 if I remember well? And for sure they have more minutes from this before compiled with Japan footage. Awesome! |

GT wrote: We had to sit on this a while without saying anything. The version of NIH at the exhibition is actually the Xmas '45' programme footage. GT you said its from '45', but from what i see, the stage setup does not match the pictures we have from '45'. Again the link, with ABBA and the Queen gear in the background: link |

And for sure they have more minutes from this before compiled with Japan footage. Awesome! The band's history is in sections, with bits and pieces cut together, on a yearly and album basis (well the four screens I was looking at). There are other screens around the exhibition - I will ascertain today whether they show all the same footage or if it varies. So yes, they have the full NIH vid but only a section showing here. |

What's so secretive about this that Queen productions felt they needed to keep it under wraps until now? |

I think the reason QPL don't want to tell us what they've got is quite simple. If I said I'd got the full pro-shot Knebworth 86 camera feeds on VHS, you'd be screaming for a copy, right? I bet QPL are fed up with people asking (or even demanding) to know when the Anthology set(s) is coming out, so until such time as they are ready to release certain things, they'll keep secret what they have. |

I asked re: NIH. I wonder what the big secret is. Do yo think there's anyone "screaming for a copy" of that? So maybe this is a secret because it's going to be an extra on a possible DVD release, maybe Hammersnith or maybe Hyde Park. Or (if this was borrowed footage) maybe the person who owns it wanted it kept secret. Eitehr way, it's a bit odd. |
