What is the most overplayed Queen song? I think that We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions is the most overplayed. What do you say? |
spandan 09.10.2010 00:31 |
We Will Rock You, definitely. I Want To Break Free, We Are The Champions are also on the list (here in Nepal at least). Bohemian Rhapsody is very, very underplayed here. |
Gypsygirl 09.10.2010 00:35 |
I Want To Break Free is never played on the radio here in America. lol. Bohemian Rhapsody is played quite often but not as often as WWRY and WATC. Another One Bites The Dust and Killer Queen are some other overplayed songs. lol. |
Bo Rhap 09.10.2010 01:55 |
Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I hear that every single day. |
dive2063 09.10.2010 04:25 |

lifetimefanofqueen 09.10.2010 05:19 |
many, your my best friend, we are the champions, we will rock you and crazy little thing called love, they are played waaaay to much |
pietrek 09.10.2010 15:38 |
I'm from Poland and there are really many Queen songs played in radio. I heard: Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Bicycle Race, Another One Bites The Dust, Radio GaGa, I Want To Break Free, A Kind Of Magic, Who Wants To Live Forever, Breakthru, Invisible Man, Innuendo, I'm Going Slightly Mad, These Are The Days Of Our Lives, The Show Must Go On, Heaven For Everyone, Too Much Love Will Kill You, You don't Fool Me. Invisible man, you dont fool me and heaven for everyone are mostly overplayed. |
jamster1111 09.10.2010 15:45 |
In America it is definitely Bohemian Rhapsody. After that comes the whole WWRY and Champions combination and then once in a while you'll here Crazy Little Thing or Another One Bites the Dust. Very rarely will you here somebody to love. I have never once heard Killer Queen on the radio, that is FM radio...satellite radio is a different story. But this is how it is in Southern California |
ITSM 13.10.2010 19:27 |
In Norway: Bohemian Rhapsody Don't Stop Me Now (it's been played a lot the last 2 - 3 years) We Are The Champions We Will Rock You Another One Bites The Dust You're My Best Friend Radio Ga Ga |
alaynasusan 14.10.2010 03:54 |
First off, there is no way Bohemian Rhapsody could ever be overplayed. Greatest single of all time. I hear Killer Queen quite a bit, but what I'd give to hear I Want To Break Free on American radio. |
liam 14.10.2010 10:23 |
In Australia its definetly WATC and WWRY. BoRhap is played often but not overplayed. Killer Queen, Somebody to love, Crazy little thing called love, AOBTD and other big hits are played quite often. |
Mr. Bed Guy 17.10.2010 11:00 |
In Germany "Radio Gaga" has the heaviest rotation...., "A Kind Of Magic", "I Want To Break Free" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" are also often on air.... Sometimes "Champions", "Friends Will Ba Friends" and "The Show Must Go On" In 1990 I managed to get "Power To Love" played on radio, sending in a wishlist.... :-)) but only once... |
*goodco* 17.10.2010 11:08 |
Rollin' Over |
Mr Coolest Cat 17.10.2010 11:32 |
Bo Rhap or WATC in the UK i'd say. |
leto 19.10.2010 06:54 |
in France we have as often as possible : We Will Rock You We Are The Champions Another One Bites The Dust I Want To Break Free I Want It All A Kind Of Magic Radio Gaga The Show Must Go On Bohemian Rhapsody Heaven For Everyone You Don't Fool Me Sometimes we have Somebody To Love, Under Pressure, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Don't Stop Me Now, Who Wants To Live Forever, Bicycle Race. Then the oldest single we have on radio is Boh Rhap ! |
Bigfish 20.10.2010 09:23 |
Here in Spain; I Want to Break Free and Friends will be Friends - quite depressing actually.. |

If I were to hear Radio Ga Ga on the radio here in America, i would fall out of my chair in disbelief and then call the radio station to THANK THEM! It's a criminally ignored song here in the States...and one of Queen's best IMO. |

It's a criminally ignored song here in the States...and one of Queen's best IMO. ===================== Ditto for my part of the world in Ontario, Canada. In fact I'm virtually certain I have never heard anything on terrestrial radio past 'Body Language' with the exception of 'I Want to Break Free'. In addition I hear 'Killer Queen', 'Bo Rhap', 'Best Friend, 'Somebody to Love', 'Rock You/Champions', 'Bicycle Race', 'Fat Bottomed Girls, "Crazy Little Thing' and 'Dust' that's about it. Sometimes you'll hear 'Seven Seas of Rhye' or 'Keep Yourself Alive' or 'Now I'm Here' on some album track segments. Satellite is only marginally better as I think I've only heard 'Tie Your Mother Down', 'Gaga' and 'Innuendo' once or twice beyond those already listed. I want to say I've also heard 'Black Queen' once, but I might be making that up. And I've got an artist alert set to notify me when a Queen song is playing on any station on satellite at any time no matter what I'm currently listening to, so it's unlikely there's much more played unless it's all played when I don't have the radio on (unlikely). It's such a crying shame, especially on satellite when they've got programming like 'Classic Vinyl' and 'Deep Tracks' where all the off-hit gems should be showcased. |

Bohemian Rhapsody, i hate the song for that fact (UK) |

matt z 02.11.2010 16:59 |
That's GOTTA be "Football Fight" or "A Human Body"... ...i'm sick to death of those bloody tracks! |
Dane 03.11.2010 03:12 |
Haha.. Football Fight! definatly! No, but really, WWRY should not be played anymore. Only the last chord can be played at the start of WATC. but no more! |
fmarsong 03.11.2010 03:48 |
In Philippines..Bo Rhap, another one bites the dust,we will rock you,we are the champions, radio gaga |
Silken 13.12.2010 09:37 |
In Argentina, the following three have been so overplayed that I ALWAYS skip them when listening to the albums, and I haven't included them in the music I have in my computer: We are the Champions / WWRY / Friends will be friends And guess what? I sing in a choir and we are rehearsing WATC and WWRY. I think I already hate them. Also quite overplayed: I want to break free Radio Ga Ga Crazy little thing called love Bo Rhap (however, I'll never get tired of listening to it) Love of my Life |
pietrek 13.12.2010 17:28 |
You don't fool me, Heaven for everyone and I want to break free in Poland |
Citizen of Rhye 07.10.2012 19:36 |
My first reply! I'm a long time reader. I'm in America, Missouri in fact, and I nearly died when I heard '39 on the radio today. |
waunakonor 07.10.2012 20:25 |
I've heard Bo Rhap, WWatC/WWRY, AOBtD, Under Pressure, Fat Bottomed Girls, and Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Pretty sure that's it. I don't listen to the radio enough to consider anything overplayed on there, although people play those first three songs on their ipods all the time.
I'm in some disbelief that there are places in the world where Heaven for Everyone and You Don't Fool Me are considered overplayed. Get me a ticket for any place where that is the case.
pietrek's comment in particular made me want to live in Poland. Are all those songs seriously overplayed there? You basically just listed all of Greatest Hits I and II, and even a little of III. That's insane.
alaynasusan wrote: First off, there is no way Bohemian Rhapsody could ever be overplayed. Greatest single of all time.I agree with you on the second part of that comment, but not the first part. Bigfish wrote: Here in Spain; I Want to Break Free and Friends will be Friends - quite depressing actually..And that's it? That's odd. Gregsynth 07.10.2012 20:30 |
I've heard "Staying Power" play on the radio at least once by where I live! |
Stelios 07.10.2012 23:09 |
In Greece its We are the champions We will rock you The show must go on Bohemian Rhapsody ---and sometimes--- You dont fool me I want to break free Another one bites the dust A kind of magic Under Pressure |
tomchristie22 08.10.2012 01:59 |
Here in Australia the most common by far is Rock You/Champions, always back to back. Bo Rhap isn't uncommon either. After that would come Don't Stop Me Now, Under Pressure and pretty infrequently Break Free, Dust and Ga Ga. Surprising that tracks like Friends Will Be Friends and You Don't Fool Me get airplay elsewhere. |

German radio stations love Radio GaGa I want to break free a Kind of magic the Show must go on The biggest shock was to hear Man on the Prowl once. |

On Romanian radio's: a bit of Show Must Go On, Somebody to love, Crazy little thing, Champions. |

"If I were to hear Radio Ga Ga on the radio here in America, i would fall out of my chair in disbelief and then call the radio station to THANK THEM! It's a criminally ignored song here in the States...and one of Queen's best IMO." Another vote for this. And it was actually Top 20 here. |

In Finland: We Are the Champions and Bohemian Rhapsody. Last year they played Love of My Life several times!!! :) |

I'd die in happiness if I got something like Ogre Battle or Great King Rat played on a radio station. |
Wiley 10.10.2012 10:10 |
It's gotta be "Yeah" (MIH Track 12). I hear it all the time. Countless covers, mixes and samples by most artists on the radio. |
br5946 01.12.2012 08:29 |
Whoa. Back up. You mean QUEEN songs get played on the radio?! Wow. Can someone please direct me to the stations in Britain that do this? And no, I'm not being funny. Seriously, I've heard their songs on the radio on only 7 ocassions in the time I've been a Queen fan, which has been for five years. Bo Rhap twice, then TSMGO, Magic, Hammer to Fall, One Vision, and maybe DSMN once. That's it. |

Without doubt the most popular Queen song on british commercial radio is I Want to Break Free. Its on all the time. Which is a shame as its one of the worst singles. |

I much prefer Queen's album tracks (for the most part), probably because a lot of singles were/are over played. |
