Yes it's Rosario, unbelievebable but true,I don't know why people are too worried about mp3,this is more than rare, now that it exists, there is a cassette,it won't take long for a FLAC version to come out,why don't you just say thank you to this really superrare concert? |
A Word In Your Ear 23.05.2009 18:19 |
Yes Just listened to track one "We Will Rock You" Freddie says hello Rosario. Well Mp3 or not, It's still a great find. I did not have this one, Thanks :-) I dont think Martin has it listed on his site either. To be honest I didn't think that this recording existed & it was just all rumours that it did. I was wrong!!!!!! Thanks again!!!! |

I can start a rumour that another 10 sources from this show exist. You can't disprove it, can you? :-) ruth.olivier wrote:I'm on it !And be sure that you're the only one. Argentinian shows were from 90 to 100 minutes long,it would be great to contact the person who recorded it also to ask if there is some other track missing to have the complete setlist. |

It would be very nice if we could get a lossless version of this recording! Good that Olivier is going to contact the person who posted this. As Bob said, it is best that ONLY Olivier contacts that person and then lets us know if getting a lossless version is possible. Of course it's fantastic to find a new Queen recording! We can only wonder what more exists:-) It's not really surprising it's a 1981 tape since so many people were recording then:-) Still, it doesn't happen every day! |

On Taringa's post the user said that he ripped it some years ago and doesn't know if the taper still has the cassette. |
L-R-TIGER1994 25.05.2009 19:29 |
Bad news about this cassette, the person who posted the show on Taringa confirmed me that the contacted the taper but the cassette doesn't exist anymore so we will have to wait till another copy surfaces,he was very gentle and responded me immediately but he says that the taper really doesn't want to be disturbed or be asked about deails of the show so please respect him. |
The Real Wizard 25.05.2009 21:02 |
Translation: The taper wants to keep the best version for himself. But it's his tape, so he's entitled to do as he pleases. It would just be nice if people could be honest about it. |

Sir GH wrote: Translation: The taper wants to keep the best version for himself. But it's his tape, so he's entitled to do as he pleases. It would just be nice if people could be honest about it. Believe me this may not be the case, this is the story.according to what this guy says:around 2002 a man came to his work(he films events and all that stuff)with a cassette and wanted it to be ripped into CD,moffwalter(this is the name of the person who uploaded it)asked the guy what he wanted to do with the tape cos it was very rare,he just asked that he "found it somewhere in the house" and "just" wanted to listen to it so he did rip the tape into cd and keep the copy only in mp3,now the cassette doesn't exist anymore. The taper is just an ordinary person whom in his youth went to see Queen,he is not an elite trader, may be not even a huge Queen fan nowadays, may be around in 1981 he wasn't a huge fan either, remember that Queen was the first major band to visit Argentina so many people went to see them, most were fans, some of them liked their music and some of them as it was in their own city just were curious and attended the show, this taper according to what moffwalter says is amongst the second or even the third option, nearly 29 years have passed and he is around 50yo,thru the years he lost interest and was unaware that he had a treasure on his hands(and didn't care too much either about it) he just listened to it on CD and left the cassette scattered at home as he had done till 2002 but this time he lost it.This is exactly what the uploader told me,so you take your own conclusions, may be you are right but reading all the story as the uploader told me,it seems more likely that this taper didn't keep it as a treasure,it would have been great if it had been a huge fan who had taped the show cos this person didn't care anything about Queen and never was aware that he had some invaluable piece of Queen history to sell/trade/keep for himself or whatever but it was his cassette and he did what he wanted. But thanks God it was a kind soul who was not selfish and uploaded the show anyway(even though without the taper permission)and this is what we have today till some other version appears. |
L-R-TIGER1994 25.05.2009 22:03 |
I keep my fingers crossed but it seems we will have to search somewhere else for another version to have it in FLAC,anyway I was glad that a "new" recording appeared and hope some more will pop up soon. |

Back in 2001 I had contact to a dutch trader who sold his whole collection of Queen recordings. He sent me a list and there was also a Rosario recording on it. It was a one disc recording titled "Rock it South America". On this list there were also recordings from Glasgow (30.11.1979 and 31.05.1977) written down. After I noticed that nobody else in the trading community knew something about those items I doubted that they could be genuine. But today with that great gift from 1981 I think it all over again. Thanks to all the people who made this recording available regards W. |

Thanks to all the people who made this recording available regards W. I checked those two Glasgow dates you mention - indeed they are / were listed on the most famous Dutch collectors audio list... Glasgow 30.05.77 and 31.05.77 both as 2xC60, quality 8 out of 10 ... can be real, or a mix up of other dates , remember those lists were compiled through the 80s - closer in time to the source, but with more limited cross-checking of information. |
Double-U 26.05.2009 07:18 |
Dear Miklos, you're absolutely right. Rosario is real as we know from today so there's a piece of chance that also other recordings could be genuine. But it's strange that they appeared mainly in the traders lists from the Netherlands. Perhaps they were shared in a small community only or they are fakes like Cleethorpes and others. I didn't come across bootleg cassettes so often. On ebay I saw a tape labelled as Munich 02.12.1974 for what I wasn't willing to pay a lot of money to realize in the end that it is another Rainbow-mix. But we can never know. regards W. |
little foetus 26.05.2009 07:53 |
A recording labelled as the second night of Glasgow 79 is from the first night and the same for Glasgow 77. It is one of the known fakes that has circulated for years, even in mp3 on the hub. If someone lists it, I think it is a good idea to verify but the probability of a fake is quite high. |

But collectors have a very long history of making up excuses not to let out a recording, or for letting it out in reduced quality. I've heard variations of this kind of story dozens of times. Either way, it's great that the tape showed up in one way or another. |

I've also heard of the existence of a recording of one of the Manchester 1979 shows. I've heard it from a Queen-fan who saw it listed by 2 collectors more than 20 years ago. I'd really like to meet someone who knows more about that. An extra Crazy tour tape would be very welcome:-) |
Mr. Scully 28.05.2009 12:31 |
I confirm the story - the guy who uploaded Rosario has got in touch with me and confirmed this is all he has. Jim Jenkins has several previously unheard tapes - but from time to time he trashes some when he cleans the house - he's not really a Queen fan anymore. He was very kind to me when we met in Liverpool some years ago so I didn't feel like persuading him to give the tapes to me. I just told him he should keep them for future generations but I don't know if he did that :) He had some nice recordings from the Crazy tour if I remember well. |

Jim Jenkins is on facebook. Several Queenzone members are facebook friends with him. Could be a way to contact him. |
The Real Wizard 28.05.2009 15:34 |
I definitely don't think that's a good idea. Jim will then be less inclined to help out if people are barraging him with messages for old tapes. One person should delicately do what they can. Anything more could make things even worse. |

It could very well be that he has other nice things to add to your site(apart from the recordings). So maybe you can contact him to have a chat:-) |

Those other fans might not have a good reason to ask, apart from the fact they'd like to hear the recordings:-) It could be obvious to him why they ask it(a reason that could make him doubt their intention as a friend), while in your case it could be regarded as information for your site. If I were not aware of your site and someone would point me towards it I'd think I'd be impressed that someone is putting so much effort in listing up all Queen live recordings(I'm now impressed too of course;-)so that would immediately alter my attitude towards this person. |
