Does this person want Queen to be the best band, roger best drummer, brian best guitarist, john best bass player, freddie best singer. Now if they get all those 'awards' can you please tell me what that means? your right he is dead but still is the greatest singer of all time since people like you and I still listen to Queen and buy there CD's. Alot of singers still say that he was the greatest showmen/singer of all time.There will never be another Freddie Mercury in music.

Well, Elvis is dead and people still listen to his music and a lot of singers say he was the "greatest showmen/singer of all time". Same with Sinatra. Same with other people. Doesn't mean they are, doesn't mean they're not. Same with Mister Mercury. Doesn't mean that everybody else who isn't "the greatest" is shit either. Some of you people have this very weird and twisted sense that, because Freddie's dead, you have to take every opportunity to disparage any singer who isn't him. And its kind of stupid. You're not doing Freddie any favors and he's not going to appear to you in a visitation and thank you. Freddie thought Aretha Franklin and Montserrat Caballe were better singers than he was and they're both still alive, so what does that tell you about what Freddie would think about who was "the greatest singer of all time"?
Well you have to have good examples to become good. Freddie had already been characterised as the ultimate prerformer and he accepted numerous awards for contributing to music industry, and that ment something to him. Everything else is just fun and I don't see why it should be such problem. Fans Will Be Fans. You can't deny a fan the right to see his idol's name at the top of some chart... and don't tell me it's not the way a TRUE fan behaves, I'm sick of all the tips some are giving thinking it's their job to teach the rest what is a fan and what isn't. We're all individuals therefore different so leave it there.
