Okay, SOCCER is now officially gay.
KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) -- Manchester United are being disrespectful to Asian soccer by organising a tour of the continent that clashes with July's Asian Cup, the region's top official said on Monday.
The English champions' plans to play in Malaysia on July 27, just two days before the Asian Cup final in Jakarta, show no solidarity to Asian soccer organizers, Asian Football Confederation president Mohamed Bin Hammam told reporters.
"Whenever Manchester United play the television companies and sponsors are going to pay for that. We cannot compete with that.
"To come to Asia at this time is not fair play at all."
The July 7-29 Asian Cup is being co-hosted by Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.
If you are for respect you should be respectful enough to use the correct term for the game: it's football. As you said yourself it's the Asian Football Confederation - not "Soccer" Confederation. The game has always been called football (futbol, Fussball) all over the world - no need to give it a funny name.
Er, they'll have been invited by someone to play. You shouldn't worry, the semi-reserve side that'll turn up at the start of their pre-season training is usually barely worth watching.
Still, looks like wherever you are in the world, you'll find an agenda....
I always thought football was a game where players actually kick the ball with their feet.
Here in America there's a gay version of rugby where the game stops every 5 seconds and the players are entirely covered with pads. Just don't ask me why they call it football.
Maybe, but they still rule. They're the team that got me to start watching sports outside the US and Canada.
But it's SOCCER now. You can call it Football, Futbol, or whatever, but it's 90% boring and it can't compare to the greatest league in the world... the NFL.
You won't see some country bitching about what's fair and what's not just because they can't compete. Get a life Southeast Asia. We're not bitching because we can't watch kiddie porn or catch a venerial disease getting a pack of smokes.

:-D
Any sports league on the Special Olympics is far more entertaining than the NFL.

btw, which part of Liverpool are you from?
i was tempted to write Barnsley to your first question but i wont :-]
i put my hands up to you but i still dont see man utd in the european cup final against milan this year though.

i know,get it over with :-]
[awaits the cross to bear and the dogs abuse]
The best teams don't win cups.
The best teams win leagues.
Even so, didn't see Tranmere Rovers anywhere near it, so I'm not clear on why you feel it's relevant.
