Just wondering why we haven't any concerts from 1978 unlike 74,75.76,77,79,81,82,85 where there's a professionally filmed gig or is there and it just hasn't been discovered yet.
Greetz (sorry couldn't resist it).
It's a major conspiracy; William H. Webster was put in charge of the FBI that year, and he banned filming of Queen shows, because he was told by aliens in league with the Devil and Tom Cruise that Queen was their PR-machine. Webster feared that allowing recordings of Queen would cause satanic messages to be visible if the tapes were played backwards at twice the normal speed between 6pm and 9:13pm if shown on a cable network.
In addition, he believed that Queen would soon be forgotten, and he hoped that by making sure as little documentary evidence as possible remained, he would speed up that process.
Of course, this is all just theory.
The bottom line is that we don't know.
There is some 1978 PRO footage. On traders lists it's usually referred to "Munich '78" but the footage was shown on Japanese in 2004 (in EX quality of course) but labelled "Rotterdam '78".
I don't know which city is actually correct.
It's also only 2 songs: Keep Yourself Alive and We Are the Champions. I was just about to put them on youtube and discovered they're already there: link
It's Munich - filmed by and shown on German TV. The Japanese TV show even kept the wrong order: WATC first and KYA second. So, the Japanese subtitle says Rotterdam? :-)
