Without a doubt the year 2000 - 2002. With Freddie out of the way they were able to let their true genius shine with performances with 5ive, the highlight being Party In The Park. Tie Your Mother Down was simply amazing that day.
Another noteworthy gig was in 2002 in Holland.
I saw them on the Jazz and Game tours. I think their Jazz tour was for Queen what the '72 tour was for the Rolling Stones. One big party on the road and living like kings. What a great time for Queen on that tour!!!
Idon't know, I always thought it was around '75 to '82. Maybe that's because it's MY favorite Queen era. Then, Freddie's voice changed (not for the worse or the better, it was just different). Queen's style changed a little (again, not good or bad, just different) and I don't know. Just happens to be some of the earlier stuff. Doesn't mean I don't like the newer stuff. After all, my favorite Queen song of all time IS I'm Going Slightly Mad....
Early 80's for the Band + Freddie's vocals.
QOF and Live Aid show the Band at their very best in my opinion.
LAW, Music was superb Hammer to Fall better than single, We Will Rock you Guitar intro and Tie Your Mother Down are a few of the highlights, although on this occasion disappointed with Freddie's vocals, expected better after the Live Aid performance previous year.
However Mr Rodgers & U2 plus music whinnos sorry journos and Industry, please take note 'King Mercury' and the rest of the Band are the benchmark as sales figures, performances worldwide/Universally demonstrate.
Good luck with the new album!!

LOL!
The Amsterdam gig was quality wise not one of the best shows i've ever seen (to put it mildly) but man... did I have a great day!
Back in 2002 it was something very special to see Roger and Brian perform together...
I saw them in on every US tour from Day At the Races to Hot Space and I would have to say The Day At the Races tour because a number of songs from Queen and Queen II were still in the set list and the News of the World tour for their longest and most varied shows.
