QueenZone Video Project
| dobo 20.01.2007 10:34 |
Hi I've had an idea for a good project IMHO instead of waiting for Queen Productions to release the other promo videos why don't we make our own,but for every album. What I am suggesting is that 1 queenzoner chooses 1 Queen Album or 1 Solo Album and then creates a video for every track on the album either that or a group of about 3 or 4 QueenZoners chooses an album and each Queenzoner in that group makes a video for 2 or 3 tracks on the Album or depending on the length of the album it would be split equally for example a group of 3 working on The Works Album would have 3 tracks each. If this project gets off the ground we can upload our videos and I will download them all and burn on to a DVD(s) depending on how many get done and we can have our own Queen Video Collection and then upload them in the announce section. Let Me Know What You Think Of This Idea and If You Are Going To Take It Up Which Album You Are Going To Create Videos For I Have Chosen The Works Album For Mine Have Fun Dobo |

What do you mean by "make a video" for a track? Like a compilation video, or shoot your own footage, or what? |
| dobo 20.01.2007 11:07 |
What I mean is compile a video using footage from live shows, promo video footage or rare footage that you own or a simple slideshow with suitable pictures a bit like DORO do. Like the 30th anniversary ANATO DVD and if this project gets off the ground we could end up with a large DVD set containg a video for every track on every album |
| dobo 20.01.2007 11:49 |
This is a low quality version of the video i made for machines (or 'back to humans') link The quality of the final product is a lot better picture wise as it is DVD quality this is in MP4 format and is just to give you an idea by what i mean by make a video for a track. What i was thinking was a DVD disc for each album so that the video's remain in as higher quality as possible |
| Dane 20.01.2007 14:22 |
A bit off-project, but I made this about a year ago.. :) link |
| dobo 20.01.2007 14:36 |
I like it a lot I think we have ourselves a bonus track for the hotspace disc because its not the studio version but i really like it so thanx for that |
| dobo 20.01.2007 14:42 |
At The Moment It Looks Like This This is the list of albums and who is making the videos for that album. Queen I - Queen II - Sheer Heart Attack - A Night At The Opera - A day At The Races - News Of The World- Jazz - The Game - Flash Gordon - Hotspace - The Works - Dobo A Kind Of Magic - The Miracle - Innuendo - Made In Heaven - Starfleet Project - Back To The Light - Another World - Mr Bad Guy - Barcelona - Shove It - Strange Frontier - Happiness - Electric Fire - Copy and paste this list into your posts but add your name after the album you are going to create the videos for I know this is an ambitious project but if we get this going the end result will be great i'm sure |
| Adam Baboolal 20.01.2007 15:07 |
This won't work for two reasons, 1, that video for machines has a lot of live footage that doesn't work. However, the use of calling all girls footage does help it. But it can't survive on that alone. And 2, just think of all the photos, videos that would get used and re-used over and over... The DoRo folk have shown that it's not easy to do and often just looks bad or tired or even wrong. Anyone who tries this is gonna stop somewhere down the line cause it's too much work with too little resources. Try, if you must. But I really don't think it'll work to anyone's advantage. Adam. |
| Penetration_Guru 20.01.2007 16:23 |
Hang on, where's my response in this thread? ... ... TWO Threads? Fucking hell, how needy are you? |
| dobo 20.01.2007 16:25 |
3 threads actually because its a big ambitious project and in order for it to work the more people that know about it the better |
| Smitty 20.01.2007 16:32 |
I think we should just pick individual songs instead. For the same reason Adam Baboolal mentioned. |
| mickyparise 20.01.2007 16:33 |
I made 2 vids on youtube..... link link |
| dobo 20.01.2007 16:34 |
That could work and is prob a better idea to be honest but i am going to keep working on this although for my own personal use any help would be appricated i will share the final result for each album here as well although i like your idea also |
| dobo 20.01.2007 16:38 |
i like your is this the world we created video a lot also is there any chance of that in rapidshare please |
| mickyparise 20.01.2007 17:23 |
Thanks, not sure how to upload on rapidshare from youtube.........anyone have a clue? |
| Penetration_Guru 20.01.2007 19:46 |

| KevoM 22.01.2007 12:00 |
Here's one I did earlier (MUCH earlier!) for 'Put Out The fire'... link |
| dobo 22.01.2007 13:23 |
i like it do you have it in rapidshare all that needs doing is the sound and video cleaning up a bit and then thats great so thats 2 videos for the hotspace disc |
| unknown 22.01.2007 14:25 |
Indeed, this video is something new. As to the video project; basically I think this is a good idea, but on the other side this might be difficult to organize in terms of use of the same Queen/Freddie video shots over and over again and thus the possible reocurrance of them (even from album to album)- maybe we could use instead of Queen and Freddie clips/shots various other clips from movies which could fit to the song - like the videos of mickyparise and KevoM. I made the same experiment to 'My Fairy King': link For my other video clip to 'Son And Daughter' I used various Freddie video material: link Having said that, I really don't know how to upload these to rapidshare... In my opinion, it would be probably better, when we could start a thread where we all could post links to our videos so that everyone can contribute - that's only my opinion. |
| dobo 22.01.2007 14:37 |
if there still on your hard drive you can upload them to rapidshare here: link just click on browse and then select the file and click upload. Lets change the rules so as of now you can use Queen Live Footage Queen Promo Video Footage Freddie Mercury Promo Footage Freddie Mercury Live Footage (Mainley Barcelona Footage) Brian May Live Footage Brian May Promo Footage Roger Taylor Live Footage Roger Promo Footage Queen + Paul Rodgers Live Footage Band Interview Footage Photos of the band or any of its members Film Footage Documentry Footage |
| dobo 22.01.2007 14:40 |
if that is not possible i can download them from youtube and burn them on to DVD but the quality wont be the best so thats now 2 videos for Hotspace disc and 2 videos for Queen I |
| unknown 22.01.2007 16:14 |
I will try to upload them on rapidshare (maybe tomorrow, because now I have too little time) - in which size should I do it? Oh, and My Fairy King and Son And Daughter are both from Queen I :) |
| dobo 22.01.2007 16:23 |
sorry yes you're right i was thinking of the fairy feller's master stroke i'll just edit the above message so that, that is correct. could you put them up in the orginal size that you did them in as that will be the best quality if possible could you create the videos for Queen I please as I realy like the 2 you have done so far |
| unknown 23.01.2007 08:16 |
Thank you; I'm really happy that you like it, but I think I cannot do the other videos immediately (within one month for example); I'm studying two studies at university and currently have serious exams; you know, for the two videos I already made I needed a lot of time for planning, so if this project should be serious, then I'll need much more time for the whole album; (I know I sound like a director:), but actually, I'm planning to become a film director and to go to film college next year:)) But for now I will try to upload the availible videos in their original size. |
| dobo 23.01.2007 10:51 |
Thats fine i understand that you will be busy and that but anytime at all even if it is a month i think it will be worth it as i really like these and thanx for uploading them |
| KevoM 23.01.2007 10:58 |
I may redo my Put Out The Fire with DVD clips and better audio as the vhs clips used at the time are a bit ropey. I also have a better, similar 'video' done to Flick of The Wrist with various 80s horror/sci-fi clips inserted to the beat/lyrics. I'll try and redo this one too and upload 'em. |
| dobo 23.01.2007 11:01 |
thanx a lot that would be great |
| ARCHIVIST?WTF! 23.01.2007 15:06 |
Great concept.Anything would be an improvment on those shoddy Made In Heaven promos that were created by different directors.Maybe the band could work with the fans on this idea for the upcoming album with Paul Rodgers |
| dobo 27.01.2007 14:49 |
Daria anyword on the videos going up to rapidshare? I have started work on the video for Tear It Up |
| .DeaconJohn. 27.01.2007 17:48 |
I remember years ago there was a fan video for "Was It All Worth It" floating around the net. I seem to remember it was quite good too! Any of the long time zoners still have a copy? |
| YourValentine 29.01.2007 06:04 |
Yes, it was from a Russian fan I think link |
| dobo 29.01.2007 11:48 |
Is there any chance of this in a higher quality as the picture isn't the greatest and it will not look very good when burnt on to DVD and is there any chance that someone knows who it is by. |
| unknown 30.01.2007 13:54 |
dobo wrote: Daria anyword on the videos going up to rapidshare? I have started work on the video for Tear It UpYes, I will upload them immediately after the 1st of February - I don't have the videos in large size on my harddisk, so I have to record them again on my camera and then import to my computer. I hope you understand. |
| dobo 30.01.2007 14:13 |
Of course i understand and thank you very much I can't wait to see them in a large size thanx again |
| unknown 02.02.2007 14:39 |
Hi dobo; I tried to upload the file, but I had problems; it is just too large in its original size (more than 700 MB). Maybe it is possible to send you the videos on DVD to your address? - My e-mail address is mercury333@gmx.at |
| dobo 02.02.2007 14:45 |
Sorry thats a no can do i'm affraid as I do not like giving out my address online or to people that I do not know. Would it be possible to torrent the videos at all. |
| unknown 02.02.2007 14:58 |
I sadly don't know how to torrent them and I'm afraid it won't work because my computer is not the fastest. |
| dobo 02.02.2007 15:02 |
Could you not split the files into archives using Winar or a similar program and upload 1 part a day or something like that so for a 700mb file you would split it into 7 files of 100mb each. |
| unknown 02.02.2007 15:07 |
I'm feeling uncomfortable now, but I'm really a newbie in the area concerning uploading files. I meant that I could send you the videos on DVD to your home address as this would be much faster, but I understand your choice. |
| dobo 03.02.2007 10:00 |
Tear It Up has been completed on to Passing The Open Window |
| dobo 03.02.2007 13:41 |
So far for The Works album I have the following complete videos: Machines (Or Back To Human) Tear It Up Is This The World We Created By mickyparadise I managed to download Is This The World We Created I hope you dont mine me using it as part of the project you will be credited |
| unknown 05.02.2007 09:36 |
Hi dobo! I tried to convert the 'Fairy King' video with another program into MPEG format and the size is now 126 MB; the size of the video itself is 768x576; I try to upload it on rapidshare now. |
| unknown 05.02.2007 09:43 |
I see now; rapidshare does not take files larger than 100 MB when you're not registered as a premium user. I'll try megaupload then. |
| dobo 05.02.2007 11:44 |
Thanx Daria really very much appricated |
| unknown 06.02.2007 12:14 |
Hi dobo; I have problems with link, do you know any other site where I can upload the videos? |
| mickyparise 06.02.2007 12:28 |
No problem, and Thank You.......... Hope it's going GOOD! ..... ;> |
| dobo 07.02.2007 16:41 |
Daria try this one: link or this one: link (i have never used either of them) |
| unknown 10.02.2007 08:01 |
dobo, I tried all the sites you recommended, but it sadly does not work - when I'm uploading a file, it simply stops halfway through; maybe my computer is just too slow (megaupload states for instance that I need 2 hours to upload 126 MB); I sincerely don't know what to do. |
| dobo 10.02.2007 08:08 |
I will download them from youtube but thanx for trying to upload them. The only problem been that they will not be of excellent quality but they will do because they are so good |
| unknown 10.02.2007 08:26 |
Thank you and sorry again. |
| .DeaconJohn. 13.02.2007 14:32 |
Yep, thats the one, YV! Been a while since I've seen that, cheers! |
| dobo 15.02.2007 12:21 |
Keep Passing The Open Window is done, 4 tracks down 5 tracks to go for The Works Album. |
| dobo 16.02.2007 09:43 |
Hammer To Fall is done 4 tracks left on The Works |
| dobo 15.03.2007 13:56 |
Having recently purchased some new software especially for this project of mine, I am going to start again from the beggining with the album Queen. |
