Don't Lose Your Head would have to be on my list at least twice because I despise it with a burning passion. It's actually the only Queen song I honestly don't like. Back Chat would also probably appear on my list. |

I skip it every time 4) I skip it every time 5) ditto 6) Love it... but again.. it's aged about as well as the outfits worn on Miami Vice. 7) Yep, way sucks 8) Love it 9) Brian should stick to guitar playing... he's about as convincing singing this song as Michael Jackson would be portraying John Wayne in a Western cowboy movie. 10) Misfire gets skipped 11) Don't mind Fun It 12) Perhaps Freddie's worst song?? I don't know what it is, but I feel like I am a homosexer everytime I hear this one.... way cheezy recording... Makes "Delilah" sound like "Highway to Hell." Funny side note.... everyone screams how much Hot Space blows.... but no one has mentioned a Hot Space song yet. *I* for one own other Queen albums I listen to less then Hot Space... I don't feel it's their worst. |
Scott_Mercury 10.01.2007 08:41 |
I don't think the songs on Hot Space are so bad as the way the studio recordings were recorded... I mean, Action, Backchat, and Staying Power, to me...are the highlights of 1982 Milton Keyes. But the studio versions of these songs sound like Boy George and Wham were the producers trying to achieve the ultimate gay bar sound track. |

"You name Misfire as good and White Queen as bad? Are you joking or deaf?" Honestly I'm not joking but White Queen really didn't do anything to me in all these years I´m listening to Queen. It's quite simply boring in my opinion. And Misfire is really an uplifting song. I like it's atmosphere. For God´s sake taste's are different. cheers |

Oh my God you people!!! I'm shocked that FWBF figures on many of the lists!!! This is my 2nd favourite song... Anyway... everyboby with his/her own tastes. But still!... My CD would look smth like this: 1. My Baby Does Me 2. Party 3. Khashoggi's Ship 4. You Don't Fool Me 5. Son & Daughter 6. Sweet Lady 7. She Makes Me 8. Now I'm Here 9. Coming Soon 10. Action This Day 11. Life Is Real 12. Calling All Girls That's about it!!! A Queen album has somewhere around 10-12 tracks... so I guess that's enough! ButI am deeply hurt about the FWBF thingy ... :((((((((((( |

1) Dancer 2) Cool Cat That's all. More of a single than an album. To make it an album, fill the rest with bad remixes and collaborations, such as AOBTD by Wyclef Jean, AOBTD by Miami Vice, The Show Must Go On sung by Elton John, etc. |

Every little thing is right. Compare it to The Works. That album is a joke. A cd full with shit and only 9 tracks? WTF. Hot Space has everything: a rocking guitar, a nice crispy Telecaster sound guitar, real cool synths, a full amount of bass, some strong drums and crystal clear vocals. And yes, it was an experiment. And okay, it didn't work very well. And yes, I also agree that some songs sound way better live. But Hot Space is a top-notch album about they way you hear it. Together with Queen II and A Day At The Races, the best produced album by Queen. But that is my humble opinion. |

I'm sorry but I really have to ask this. Well, actually I'm not. And I'm rather convinced not 30% of you will answer this, because it makes you feel self-conscious and ignorant. (Provoking?) How many of you actually listen to the music analytically and try to write your own material? Songs like "Keep Passing The Open Windows", "White Queen" and "Friends Will Be Friends" to name a few, are still masterpieces compared to other artists' similar attempts, however "gay" or "boring" they might sound compared to other Queen songs. Damn it, any musician should be so lucky as to write as beautiful a ballad as "White Queen", and "Keep Passing.." is one of the most rocking half-intentionally cheesy bic razors ever, and still complicated and interesting enough to put almost any successful modern rock music writer to shame. Of course, these are only my opinions and by no means should be treated as anything but opinions, but they're based on intense education on music theory and years of exploring. Here's my list: 1. We Will Rock You (sometimes too much is just way too much..) 2. Son And Daughter (lyrics are alright though) 3. See What A Fool I've Been (never liked blues) 4. Lost Opportunity (see above) 5. Don't Try Suicide (well.. there's silliness, and then there's this one.) 6. Body Language (sort of fun, but doesn't really work either live or studio) 7. Fight From The Inside (rather anticlimatic throughout) 8. More Of That Jazz (if it weren't for the collage before the final semi-chorus, it'd be the Most Boring Queen Track, but the riff idea is sort of neat... too bad the song is too repetitive... I'm not even sure of exactly what is the track trying to be) 9. Delilah (sorry, I can't really like it, even if Freddie insisted on releasing it.. he sounds so worn out there... and there's the silliness factor there again) 10. Say It's Not True (it sounds like every other Roger song he did on his last two solo albums, only this time he did it under the Queen flag... sort of) 11. Gimme The Prize (a true soundtrack song, with clips and all... I dislike the lyrics probably the most out of all Queen catalogue, for here's Brian at his most pompous and pretentious, which doesn't work at all - at least Freddie had some style... also, the '86 drum sounds are IMHO the most horrible they ever had... and I hate the Guitar Hero bit at the beginning... if it weren't to make the movie more enjoyable, this would be useless) 12. Queen Talks (sort of fun but useless) |
martin S 10.01.2007 11:41 |
Again the same old Moan-Zone mentality here. Unfortunatly. If a person finds that White Queen is not so good as Scandal or so, leave it that way. Its personal taste, for gods sake. What would you do if i say i dont like BoRhap or Black Queen ??? Discussion is ok but not personal disses. cheers |

Not that I'm comparing Hot Space to a fart. It's a good album, but when half of the songs are poor, no level of production will ever make it a classic. Well, i love the Hot Space album! OK, it doesn´t have the Queen sound but i think they´ve acomplished what they wanted with that album. It sounds fresh today. As for the list it wiil allways be a matter of taste. I see no point in doing it. But it´s surprising to find out that many Queen fans don´t like "Friends Will be Friends". I never met a non-Queen fan that didn´t like the song. Take care |

I agree with on most points. It seems that most they’re “lesser” tunes come from the 80’s era. When just fell in love synthesizers and drenched just about every track with them. Had they replaced “Delilah” with a better track on Innuendo it would have probably be considered their second or third best album. That song should have been a b-side.

1. Don't loose your head - Well, they lost it. 2. Delilah - I agree, it does not fit Innuendo's album style. 3. More of that Jazz - that 'ctrl-c/ctrl-v' of songs ruin the song 4. Drowse - good lyrics, but when you start to pay attention, the song ends. 5. Body Language - lyrics, music, too much 80's 6. One Year of Love - a Kenny G song in a Queen album? 7. Party - it rocks, but it is forgettable 8. Kashoggi' Ship - it rocks, but it is forgettable 9. Don't try suicide - I like the style, but it is too silly. 10. Fun it - if you want a disco song, do it right 11. Jesus - I like the heavy aspect of the song but it does not fit very well the entire Queen catalog. IMHO. 12. Thank Got it's Chritmas - I do not like Christmas songs. It is enough. |

Ok. I actually like Hot Space. Even the less good tracks have something interesting about them. I usually listen to it in my car while driving and I find it most enjoyable. Let's see, the Queen tracks that I like the less would be: 01. Don't lose your head (classy opener) 02. Delilah 03. More of that Crap... I mean, Jazz. 04. One Year of Love (boooring) 05. Thank Got it's Christmas 06. Pain is so close to pleasure 07. Leaving home ain't easy 08. Man on the prowl 09. Sweet lady 10. Scandal (boring and annoying) 11. Fun it Bonus tracks: (crappy, still enjoyable tracks) 12. Don't try suicide 13. Cool Cat (a guilty pleasure of mine) 14. Funny how love is How about that? Not too bad, huh? Still better than one or two major pop stars' "Best of" collections, haha :). Wiley |

^ I'll go with Wiley on that one (with the exception of Thank God It's Christmas, it's the only Queen christmas carol I can play to combat mum's cringe-worthy 'Mariah Carey Christmas Time') |

Won't list my baker's dozen, but here's a question: Would the albums these tracks appeared on 'flow' better or worse without them? Seems that many don't like 'She Makes Me' or 'Sweet Lady'. Fine. But would the album sides have 'fit' without them? Each needed a tempo changer to make the albums sound better. Would 'Fun It' have sounded better if switched with 'Jealousy'? Then again......drop 'Pain' and throw in FWBF extended, and suddenly 'One Year Of Love' sounds ten times better. Dump 'Delilah', and everything is better on 'Innuendo' Of course, I'd have started 'The Works' with 'Tear It Up', then ' Man On Fire', 'It's A Hard Life', 'I Go Crazy', 'Man On The Prowl', and ended up with one damn fine side of an LP. And Radio would have ended up as a nonalbum A side. Shows what I know. |

1. Sweet Lady 2. It's Late 3. White Man 4. Get Down Make Love 5. Orge Battle 6. I'm In Love With My Car 7. More of That Jazz 8. Fun It 9. I Was Born To Love You (Queen's version, not Freddie's version from "Mr. Bad Guy" album, which is my most favourite song of all times) 10. Calling All Girls That's my "Bottom" 10. Cheers! |

Together with Queen II and A Day At The Races, the best produced album by Queen. But that is my humble opinion.Good production doesn't make a good album. I could go to a studio and professionally record a sound of me farting, and produce it with top of the line equipment and techniques. And I can bet EMI won't be coming to me for a copy any time soon. Not that I'm comparing Hot Space to a fart. It's a good album, but when half of the songs are poor, no level of production will ever make it a classic.JacquesDaniels wrote: Songs like "Keep Passing The Open Windows", "White Queen" and "Friends Will Be Friends" to name a few, are still masterpieces compared to other artists' similar attempts, however "gay" or "boring" they might sound compared to other Queen songs. 1) Say It's Not True I like the sentiment, but not the song, which is pretty weak. Maybe a new recording for the Q+PR album could change my mind. 2) If You Can't Beat Them The first time I felt Queen were getting lazy. 3) Fun It Ridiculously awful. 4) More of That Jazz Roger shouldn't have gotten the title track. I usually dig his '70s stuff a lot, but on this album his two contributions are painfully bad. 5) Rock It (Prime Jive) Boring and repetitive. Rog is still in a rut here. 6) Gimme the Prize (Kurgan's Theme) I know it's supposed to be an atmospheric soundtrack cut, but again, Queen are merely going thru the motions here. 7) Lost Opportunity Not really a fair choice, since Brian appears in the pits of depression here, but it's such a drag and a buzzkill that I had to include it. |

1. Party 2. Kashoggi's Ship 3. Mustapha 4. Fun It 5. The Millionaire Waltz 6. The Fairy Feller's Master-stroke 7. White Queen (As It Began) 8. Uhhhh... that's it. Ican't think of any others I'd put on a "Worst of Queen" album. |

I don't hate any of these, but they are my least favorites and least played. 1. Procession 2. Some Day, One Day 3. The Loser In The End 4. Brighton Rock 5. Bring Back That Leroy Brown 6. Misfire 7. She Makes Me 8. Tenement Funster 9. Stone Cold Crazy 10. Good Company (Actually I think I might hate this song) 11. Drowse 12. White Man 13. Sleeping On The Sidewalk 14. All Dead, All Dead 15. Leaving Home Ain't Easy 16. If You Can't Beat Them 17. Don't Try Suicide 18. A Human Body 19. Dragon Attack 20. Machines 21. Is This The World We Created (I get the idea and understand it, but it's just not my style, and I won't like a song just because it's meaningfull) 22. Don't Lose Your Head 23. One Year Of Love 24. Stealin' 25. Chinese Torture 26. Hang On In There 27. My Baby Does Me 28. Lost Opportunity 29. Let Me Live Woah. What a big list. I like all of the songs I listed except 'Good Company' and maybe 'She Makes Me'... the others I like, I just play less. And if anyone thinks I dislike a lot of the songs because Roger or Brian sing them, well, you can go sing those songs I listed elsewhere, because I really enjoy all of their solo albums. |

I really hate Jesus it's the only Queen song I ever skip if I'm listening to one of their albums. Another song of theirs I can't stand is It's A Hard Life, I never liked the song when I first heard it but when I saw the video it made me hate the song even more. As for other tracks well those I never used to like such as The Miracle I now love so I can't really moan about any other queen song. |
