Really, what kind of new album can we come to expect out of Queen + PR? Do you think it would be something like Made in Heaven, or more of a hard classic rock type of album like News of The World? Or it could be something like the works...what do you guys think?? |
Crezchi 04.09.2006 19:07 |
I think that whatever recordings come out of this should be carefully represented. I hope that it will be ALL original tracks written by QPR, but it will more than likely be a Queen/Free cover fiesta with remixes or something to that effect. I hope i am wrong! lol |

I dont think we can really COMPLETELY anticipate what to expect from the lads. Like all of Queen's releases before, it was always questions of what will they come up with next!? Granted perhaps that wasnt such a prominent question in the 80's when they were a bit more commercial, however, the thing with Q+PR and any Queen album, is the unexpected. They were known highly for their experimentation as a group, and I'm not expecting anything different with the new release. Perhaps though, i'm seeing a bit more blues elements as thats whats Paul is famous for. These guys still got it baby! I'm pumped for it! Although, should they cover a Free song, Id love to see them do something more obscure like COME TOGETHER IN THE MORNING, thats one of my favorite songs of all time. Simply beautiful. Other than that, i honestly dont think it'll be a hodge podge of Free/Queen remakes. Anywho, at the risk of sounding repetitous, i'll leave you with that. |

I think that, if "Take Love" is any indication, it'll be three thirds of original material - one Paul-heavy, bluesy material, one Brian and the other Roger. Good as it was, "Take Love" seemed to be a Paul Rodgers composition with some minimal input from Brian & Roger. It's not much to base an opinion on, but I think the new songs would have to be done with one person leading, essentially, with the others helping flesh it out. It'd be nice to see them really write together, but I'm not so sure it'll work that way. If they do have to cover anything, I hope it'd be at least something obscure. "Hangman", maybe? :) |

mmm hangman does sound good...I just hope we don't have a new version of I'm in Love with my car |

You can expect new songs to have lyrics that contain 'hit me with your heart and with your soul' at least 3 times. |

a bluesy album |

I've heard the working title is "The Joy Of Musicals". All tracks were written by Ben Elton. |

It's not sure that there is going to be an album at all folks. Paul, Roger and Brian are just going to record a couple of songs in the studio. That doesn't mean that they release these songs on a new album. I have to see it first before I believe it. |

Depending on exactly how far developed the chemistry is between Paul, Brian & Roger, I think we can expect something quite exciting. They all come from the same place musically - working class guys from tough-ish backgrounds that have trodden the boards for many years in the hope of producing something that will ensure they have a mark to leave on the musical landscape. Paul hasn't done anything "as a band member" since the last Bad Company album - everything else has been written for him only. It's entirely possible that he has other material that was perhaps left over from the latter days of Free that he has been waiting to find a vehicle for. Same with Brian and Roger - there may be material they had written that was not included on either of their solo albums because their voices and delivery simply wasn't up to it. I don't expect to see ANY covers of any of their existing material - what a waste of time for them it would be as you simply can't hope to better what has already been done. Hopefully Brian will just stick to playing blues / rock guitar and leave the singing to people that can actually sing. |

I think we can expect something with the sound style of Innuendo, Made in Heaven and Another World. |

I'm afraid that this might be a pop-rock album, with a lot of radio-friendly songs. Something like U2's most recent albums. I'm pretty sure they will try to make a successful record and that's why it might go in this direction |

Hello: Expectations are a bit too dangerous...I am glad they do what they think is the best option for them both as musicians and as human beings. Best wishes, |

No doubt in my mind that it will sound more like a new Bad Company-sort of album then it will sound like Queen. Because that was already the case when they did the live-shows. And that is not me complaing, mind you! ;-) I also think Take Love will be an indication for the new stuff. The majority will be more pop-rock-blues oriented. Yes, darlings, you PR-haters will not want this album! *Grin* Add to that Say It's Not True (wanna bet?!) and one or two of those cheesy, whiny AW-like Brian-ballads. And yes, I think I would like the idea that they could maybe proper record or finish some stuff that was written with Freddie years ago. ======= Hangman would be awesome - I believe the 'new' sound would fit the song, as well as Paul's voice and his way of singing. "Oooh, yeah, how ya gonna hang me people now" ;-) But what about stuff like I Guess We're Falling out? Feelings Feelings? Silver Salmon? I think it would all be very interesting to hear what they would make of those. But nevertheless I realy don't expect anything like that to happen. |

Hi all! Just as much as I disliked the Queen + PR tour, I'm totally thrilled about the idea of a new album, and I really hope they will make one soon. New stuff, and all will put their talent and heart in it. Sounds terrific to me, whatever comes out of it!!! |

Depending on exactly how far developed the chemistry was between Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, I think we can expect something totally not connected with Queen albums/sound. And yes, QPR lovers, the damned dance Freddie remixes are higher in chart positions than ROTC (grin). |

hopefully they steer clear of covers for the most part, although I would like to hear a full length 'Reachin Out'. I went to my local recently and there were a couple of guys doing an acoustic set, some of which included some Paul R. stuff. I asked one of them if he knew any Queen and he started talking about how much he liked the Return of the Champions DVD, after which he started singing 'Reachin' Out', then busted straight into the openning riff of Tie Your Mother Down...didn't continue the song though. In the break, however, he was saying what a cool ringtone "Are you calling me, are you tryin to get throu-ou-ou-ough..." would be. So I asked him if he could sing it into my phone so it could be my ringtone. And he did! Brilliant. |
