i don´t think it´s anything against paul rodgers
it´s against the idea of queen existance without freddie
paul rodgers is not the issue
paul rodgers, george michael, jesus christ, whoever
it dosen´t matter
Yeah I know that people hate the idea of Queen without Freddie, so did I at first. But there are people like that Blender person (50 Worst Things Ever to Happen to Music) who take offence at the 'leatherfaced Paul Rodgers' fronting the band. And someone on here who seems content with Queen without Freddie, so long as Paul steps down. Brians Permed Poodle or something. Whoever he is you people really don't like him!!
good interview, we all miss freddie, PR moves look a little familiar? maybe like Freddies? he twirls the mike like roger daltry twirled his at the tribute concert just about knocking Brian upside the head.
Paul is an extraordinary singer. I've always admired him as an integral musician (he's a brill composer too). And I fell for George Michael's voice long before I even knew who on earth was Freddie.
But my points remain: Freddie was much more than just the lead singer, and what's more important, there's no Queen without anyone of the four, whether it's Freddie, Roger, John or Brian.
That is my opinion also, I became a Queen Fan in 1975, when I was 22 I have been to four of thier concerts, in 1977 and 1982. Freddie was a very important part of the group, as well as brian and roger and john, but when I see "queen" with paul rogers singing, it just doesn't feel right. it is more of a tribute to Freddie. John folded up after Freddie died he Had felt with freddie gone so were Queen. But Queen as I knew them and seen them are gone to me. Queen+PR is a new singer singing the old songs with a different voice. I respect Brian and Roger wanting bring the music to a new generation, I have nothing against Paul he has a great blusey voice, Queen without Freddie and John is Like cereal without milk. just my perspective.
