Er, how do we know Roger wrote it? QOL suggests that the "black" barber on Electric Fire is "Arty", in which case Felix doesn't sing on it at all, there's just RT (BVs) and Arty (lead). So maybe Felix wrote it, or maybe he plays drums in the style of his dad. |

The message on the myspace website says: "A big hello to anyone checking out the Arty and Felix release. Felix here (the one not wearing a picture frame on his head), speaking on behalf of both myself and the man behind the canvas. Hes a bit short on words when it comes to things like this, so Ive been asked to write a little something about the tune in his stead. My dad wrote it a few months back and the first mix was cut with himself on vocals. We all thought it was pretty catchy and that he had done a good job all round. But, ever the perfectionist, he wasnt quite happy with what he had, and started tinkering with it, suggesting that I cut a vocal for it. Not being particularly experienced in this field, I was very chuffed to be asked, and gave it a go in the studio. I was pleased with the result, it sounded pretty good and was deadly catchy (almost irritatingly so). My dad was happier with this cut too, so he thought he would try and hawk it to Transistor Project and Parlophone as a summer single. They took the bait and here we are I think it started off as a sort of statement about how women are, paradoxically, both wonderful and incredibly annoying, the force that brings joy to a mans life with one hand and sucks it out with the other all very deep and meaningful, but being a pop song, its not Pulitzer material. Its just a damn good, reggae-lite summer pop tune, with a killer chorus that stays in your head whether you like it or not. Like cold beer and football, it goes well with barbecues and beach holidays. So, here we are. Were both very excited about it, and we hope you like it enough to fork out a few pence on it." So it looks like Rog did write it. |

You cannot say he is lacking self-confidence... |

I heard the preview and it sounded interesting. I found his voice very similar to his father's. The preview I heard is available in 7digital through the link availabe in the myspace link above. I'm using my laptop, so the loudspeakers are not that good, but it really sounded interesting. Cheers, Ogre- |

I love it already. Great brigde You can still hear Rogers songwriting style. |

As much as I hate iTUNES, I will be buying this track. It's very good. |
Penetration_Guru 12.08.2006 16:21 |
I stand corrected, although I would point out that not EVERYTHING Arty says is guaranteed to be accurate. |
Rien 12.08.2006 16:44 |
I've just put a teaser of the main mix on my site. See link |

I still don't get it. Is Felix RT's son? And he is now starting a band with RT? So it is father and son playing? But son is singing? |

Donna13 wrote: I still don't get it. Is Felix RT's son? And he is now starting a band with RT? So it is father and son playing? But son is singing? It was explained in the above quote I posted, but I'll give the bullet points as far as I understand them: - Roger wrote and recorded a song called 'Woman You're So Beautiful' with him on vocals and (presumably) every instrument; - Felix, Roger's son, really dug it; - Roger asked Felix if he would record some vocals for it; - Felix agreed; - both father and son really dug the new version; - voila. |

Very nice song ! i want to hear the ver. RT did a vocals too. but i suppose Felix had more fresh voice to this track. |
Queen_Yancha 21.08.2006 06:59 |
I just LOVE the song...Actually,I love his voice...he really sounds like Roger. They both did a great job! ' love it! |
Michael Allred 21.08.2006 10:48 |
So how old is Felix then to sound erm, how to say this? As "old" as Roger does? I don't buy it. Convince me that ain't Roger singing. Anyway, catchy song. |
Queen_Yancha 21.08.2006 12:48 |
Well,Felix must be about 26 years old...that's why his voice sounds ''older'':))). I don't believe Roger would ''cheat'':). Let's wait until next sigle from Felix... |

Until I see Felix singing this live, I'm convinced it's actually Roger handling vocals. |

Pieter,I agree:)! They have very similar voices...but there's still a small difference between them. I love Roger's voice...actually,I love everything about Roger:)). I hope Felix will record some new material...or maybe an album...probably with his dad' help:). |
PieterMC 22.08.2006 08:18 |

YourValentine 22.08.2006 09:36 |
@ Michael Allred It's true that a lot can be done on voices in studio these days but Felix has answered some questions at QOL. I hope you don't believe that Roger would "act" as his own son on the band's official website:) link |

When/if Felix performs this song *live*, then and only then will I believe it's not Roger. |
PieterMC 22.08.2006 16:45 |
It's quite obviously not Roger singing the song. Do you really honestly believe that Roger would pretend to be his son? |
kohuept 22.08.2006 18:15 |
Maybe Felix sang Sheer Heart Attack, too.... |
Michael Allred 22.08.2006 23:24 |
PieterMC wrote: It's quite obviously not Roger singing the song. Do you really honestly believe that Roger would pretend to be his son?Pieter, for *you* it's obvious. For me it's not so clear cut. Why is it so hard to believe that Roger and his son would be doing this for a laugh? Didn't Brian pretend to be a boy for that "Pinocchio" soundtrack a few years ago? It's not that big of a stretch. |
YourValentine 23.08.2006 06:28 |
What would be the laugh? Roger pretending to be his own son in an interview? That's pretty far fetched for me. Also, Felix does not really sound like Roger. Not even like Roger 20 years ago. His voice and accent are similar but not the same. |
Jjeroen 23.08.2006 06:43 |
Indeed, now come on! LISTEN to the track and for anyone that has ever realy LISTENED to Roger's voice, it is very obvious that this is not Roger singing. THOUGH Felix indeed shows fascinating similarities to his father's voice. |
Queen_Yancha 23.08.2006 06:45 |
Your Valentine...you read my mind:). I like your definition of Felix's voice! Their voices are similar, but it's still easy to distinguish them. I don't believe Roger would sing instead of Felix...Is it so hard to understand that fathers and sons often have similar voices:))? It's genetic. And I think Felix has Roger's talent,too...He seems modest about the song they recorded...but I think he really did a great job...Perfect:)! |
PieterMC 23.08.2006 08:26 |
Michael Allred wrote: Didn't Brian pretend to be a boy for that "Pinocchio" soundtrack a few years ago?Um yeah he did. He also did not do any interviews as "Just William". |
Lester Burnham 23.08.2006 09:21 |
I don't understand why Roger would go to all the trouble of pretending to be his son. If it was all him, certainly it would be marketed as a Roger Taylor single and not as a Felix & Arty single? There are similarities between father's and son's voices, but this is definitely not Roger. I'm sure that Felix was basing his vocals off of Roger's original demo, so maybe that's why the voices sound so much alike. |
Michael Allred 23.08.2006 10:40 |
PieterMC wrote:but he sure denied that it was actually him, even going as far as complimenting the "boy" and the great job he did.Michael Allred wrote: Didn't Brian pretend to be a boy for that "Pinocchio" soundtrack a few years ago?Um yeah he did. Believe what you want to Michael. I am certain that 99.9% of people KNOW that its Roger. |

PieterMC wrote: Believe what you want to Michael. I am certain that 99.9% of people KNOW that its Roger.Well that's convincing. 99.9% of people "know." 78% of people believe in aliens, should I follow them too or is 78% not a big enough number? Seriously though, naturally I'll believe what I want and as I've said before, the day Felix comes on a stage somewhere and sings it live, sounding like he supposedly does on that single, I'll be right back here saying "Wow, he sounds a lot like his dad then. Whoopsie." |
