In your experience what are the albums you see most often and least often in music stores. I've seen all of the pre-The Game albums at at least one place. News of the World and Jazz seem to be the rarest though. Of the post-Game albums A Kind of Magic seems to be the most common..I have never seen The Miracle in any store. |
Deacon Fan 03.08.2006 22:37 |
The most common around here is definitely the 1992 'Greatest Hits' Hollywood Records version. And the least would be 'At The BBC' because I actually haven't seen it anywhere in years, while I've seen pretty much everything else thanks to Best Buy. Of the ones I do see, probably 'Rocks' is the least common but still appears occasionally. I must have a good Best Buy because they generally have at least one of every studio album.. well, one of everything really except Rocks and At The BBC. |
Joeker 03.08.2006 22:58 |
Here in Southwest Washington state you can find these pretty easily most of the time in stores: - Return of the champions - live killers - on fire: live at the bowl - Greatest Hits Hollywood / We will rock you edition - A night at the opera - news of the world you can also find their mainstream dvds pretty easily.... |
rocks. 03.08.2006 23:11 |
Ok, most i've seen: A Night At The Opera News Of The World Queen II (weird, i know) least i've seen: (as in only once) The Game Hot Space A Day At The Races Jazz The Miracle Live Killers Live Magic Live At Wembley (twice) Queen Sheer Heart Attack I have never EVER seen The Works in a store, EVER! |

It sucks so much! Its a good thing that online shopping is available! LOL! The rest of them: Queen Queen II Sheer Heart Attack A Day At the races News Of The world Jazz :( The Game Flash Gordon Hot Space The Works A Kind Of Magic The Miracle Innuendo None of them, have I ever, EVER EVER seen, sold in any store that i went to! |
Gordie Howe 03.08.2006 23:43 |
It really depends on where you go. At Wal-Mart, all you usually see is Greatest Hits, Platinum Collection, ROTC. At Best Buy you usually see Jazz, NOTW, ROTC, Fire at the Bowl, Live Killers, ANATO, ADATR. |
Adolfo and the spiders from Mercury 04.08.2006 00:46 |
Platinum Collection (I, II, III) i've never seen that one |
DeeEmm 04.08.2006 02:14 |
Most common is Greatest Hits, followed by ANATO. Least common? Well, I don't even know that the BBC Album exists. I've yet to find a good version of Jazz (all versions I've seen are old and second-handed and crappy), and hmm, I had a bit of trouble when it came to A Kind of Magic. |

I have seen all of their albums in JB HI-FI, but no-where near me... Only Sydney and Briasbane.... and Brighton... Victoria |

yeah but that would mean getting CD's that are old scratched and that are most likely suck together with sticky tape... |

does that make sense? |

<font color="#330033">AllAussie LoverBoy wrote: does that make sense? No. Used CD's work fine, especially if you play them before you buy them. Plus, they are usually cheaper. |

I always have seen all discography... |
willem-jan 8923 04.08.2006 04:58 |
:P wrote: I always have seen all discography...Same here. You can buy all their albums very easy (well, maybe except for Live at the Beeb). Most of them are around 8 euro's each (3 for 25 euro). And that includes double albums like Wembley and On Fire. Live Killers is always expensive for some reason. |

Overhere in The Netherlands you can almost find any commercial album from Queen I to ROTC. The same with all official dvd's. |

I mostly find (apart from GH 1,2,3) A Night at the Opera. Never seen Queen though, had to order that one in from the UK. |
eenaweena 04.08.2006 07:03 |
hah. you guys are lucky to have those available. in my country, it's just gh 1 and 2. that's it. no dvd's, posters, whatsoever. there aren't any vintage shops here either. :( |

Queen and GH 1, 2 and 3 are most common around here. I was lucky to be able to find the rest. As for Sheer Heart Attack, I searched everywhere for months and then I finally managed to get it. And that was the only time I've ever actually seen it in any record shop. |
val 29467 04.08.2006 13:43 |
most commen here are Greatest Hits 1&2, flash and Return of the Champions |
Nevermind 04.08.2006 14:50 |
I've had to order news of the world, flash gordan and hot space because I only have a few Queen albums left to get and I never see them. |

Iv seen ''The Works'' in EVERY music shop and Made In Heaven and Innuendo are hard to find |
deleted user 04.08.2006 17:14 |
I've never seen Made In Heaven in any record shop anywhere. I didn't even have to buy it, my cousin Jonathan had it for years and never listened to it and he gave it to me when he heard I was a Queen fan. Though where he got it from I don't know. |

Newer Compilations aside... I usually only see "A Night at the Opera", "A Day at the Races" and "A Kind of Magic". But, Best Buy now has "Queen" and "Queen II". One store did have "Jazz" and at another time, they also had "Hot Space". I bought "Hot Space" used, but the only ones I usually see used are "A Night at the Opera" and GH things. I have NEVER seen "The Works" in a store. I have also never seen "The Miracle" or "Made in Heaven" in a store. And the long wait to order anything is about one and a half weeks. Yippe. And you get asked "We don't normally stock this - are you SURE you want to buy it ?" |

The most common in Texas are of course: 1. Greatest Hits 2. Classic Queen After that: Return of the Champions A Night At The Opera The Game The rest follows. The rarest appearance of Queen music in a USA store would probably be The Works. |

Only albums I have ever seen in any music or book store that I went to: Classic Queen Return Of The Champions Greatest Hits 1 Greatest Hits 2 Greatest Hits 3 Platinum Collection A Night At The Opera Stone Cold Classics Once in a while, I stumble upon: SHA Innuendo The rest, I don't think I have ever seen in a store... |

kingarthur wrote: Hot space didnt kill america...the works did to tell you the truth... I want to break free ( the video at least)Probably true. I've never understood people saying the 'disco' of AOBTD and Body Language killed them here.. when they were hugely successful. Body Language was #11 in America whilst Under Pressure was #29. Go figure. Radio Ga Ga did a respectable #16.. Break Free even managed #45.. heck I'm not even sure that did it.. it was more like a slow decline. Perhaps the AKOM and Miracle singles failed in America because of the songs themself, and it's known that Queen weren't happy with the way Capitol was or actually wasn't promoting them... I'm sure some hard core 'rock' fans lost interest because of the disco, or electronic sound, but not enough to really kill them. I don't think a single turning point exists really. Hollywood Records helped.. except for their first choice of a single being Headlong. Innuendo is the track I heard on the radio here often.. radio knows best :) I don't believe Wayne's World singlehandedly brought them back either.. it was steadily building again already. |
