Was the introduction to "Bohemian Rhapsody"
("Is this the real life, is this just fantasy" ...)
ever sung live in concert?
If yes, what tour(s) and does anyone have a snippet?
Thanks.

I don't think it ever was,
My dads friend saw them down in Melbourn once and he said they got boo'd off stage for trying to perform it!
If I was there I would've jumped up onstage, taken Freddie's microphone and told 'em to either sit through the performance or F**K OFF!!
Maybe thats something Fred or Roger could've done, they like swearing....
But yeah I dont think they ever did perform the intro live....

I agree...the most important part of the song was sung, beginning with MAMA...etc. The entro would have been just too complicated and long. But i really do not know for sure, so don't hate me if I am wrong!
Actually I believe it was early on before they used the tape in the middle and the body of the song was used in the medley. Find a complete early show from the ANATO tour and you can see. I think it was the concert intro. That is if my memory isnt failing me in my old age. It depends on your definition of play sense it was a tape.

As faras i remember Queen started the ANATO shows with the BoRhpa intro coming from tape, then boosting onstage with the rock part. They performed it even twice, as there used to be a Medley of BoRhap/KillerQueen/MOTBQ/BoRhap(reprise) too.
i personally dont think it would have been good to play/sing the intro of the song; it would be too long and i just cant see it working. I don't like the intro of It's A Hard Life live either, i just don't think it works.

The whole song (It's A Hard Life) didn't work live that well, so Queen dropped it from the setlist after the Works tour. No loss though.
they did once back in early 76...i think it was the Bournemouth, UK Gig or close to it. The audience hated it...it was terrible someone throw a piece of lemon filled cake at Roger, he ended up throwing a drumstick and hit someone in the eye...im surprised no one has heard this story.
