I found this book the other day, I'm pretty sure it was the Rolling Stone complete album guide or something to that effect, and when I got to Queen, I was disgusted to find that out of all the Queen albums rated (all except GH3 and Made in Heaven) none of them got higher than 3 1/2 stars, and there were only 2 of them that got rated that 'highly'. The rest were either poor or even disasterous! Adding insult to injury, Bohemian Rhapsody was made to sound as if it was 5.55 mins of utter nonsense and Freddie was a pompus git AND an album by Queen Latifa got 5 stars!
I've never actually red a rolling stone magazine, (I prefer Rip It Up) so can I ask, have they got a thing against Queen or are they all just a bunch of tone-deaf weirdos who wouldn't know a good song even if it bit them on the arse?
uh, YES, the Rolling Stone people are mad!! Theyve given Queen like, one good review in their entire...series or whatever you call it. It's so ANNOYING! Well, I dont buy it, so, they can go fuck their sorry selves.
the reason they hate queen so much is because John and Roger went over to the editor in chiefs house one night back in late 76 and did the old paper bag with poop trick and lit it on fire as a joke.
yeah. totally. they're a bunch of pieces of poo. they're tone deaf. no wait, i think they are. in fact, the writers may not be even talking when queen was touring. what date is that mag?

It was a book, and the cover was purple if thats any help...which it probably isn't.
Rolling Stone is one of the worst magazines I have ever read. Aside from providing the worst reviews in the worst possible taste in music, they also endlessly spew pseudo-liberal bullshit to appeal to the masses of ignorant teens in the country.

My dad claims it's a great magazine. It's fucking dire. You want a decent rock magazine, read Classic Rock. The brilliant Queen feature they had months ago was what first drew me to it and I've been getting it ever since.

My dad got me a subscription to Rolling Stone for Christmas once...
Because of that, I can now say, "Tyson Ritter wins the 'Your the kind of idiot that made me afraid to read interviews with musicians I DO like' award."
Thank you Rolling Stone - you postponed my introduction to justification that the members of my favourite band are articulate people capable of forming intelligent sentences and being funny.
I agree with you that "Rolling Stone" sucks. What a dumb magazine. You make a good point about Queen Latifa, or whatever her name is. "Rolling Stone" has to be politically correct and pretend like a black woman artist is really great when her songs are so unoriginal. What a joke!
