Oh, my Son, I don't know. Ask them. God |

They weren't played because they weren't rehearsed. As to why they weren't rehearsed - I don't know. |

Too much love will kill you was played at the 46664 gig with Katie Melua but thats the only time it was played |
turini 20.06.2006 19:38 |
also played at freddie tribute |
Wiley 21.06.2006 14:47 |
As somebody else pointed out, Too Much Love Will Kill You was played at the 46664 concert recently. No One But You was played by Brian and Roger in Freddie's tribute in 2001 but they didn't play it in the 2005 and 2006 tours. Maybe because there were too many Freddie tributes already in the setlist with BoRhap, LOML and TATDOOL. The other tracks you mention had no chance to be played in a million years, sorry. Wiley |

theCro wrote: Too much love will kill you No One But You Mother Love Made In Heaven Oh sweet God, why?Yeah, and in the end they would play Mozart "Requiem" just to flow with those songs. Got the point? Take care |

TMLWKY was also sang by Brian and Pavarotti in Modena -- 2003 i think it was. |

I mean Freddie "tributes" as in references to him or dedications to him in the Queen and Paul Rodgers tour. Love Of My Life is dedicated to him by Brian and the audience sings it, big moment. These are the days of our lives has Freddie and the band's footage and it's pretty nostalgic. Freddie sings a part of Bohemian Rhapsody from a video screen and the band play along with him, Paul makes a bow to him and leaves the stage when Freddie appears on the screen. Roger sang Say it's not true, a song about AIDS, which relates to Freddie in a way and the audience shouts "Ready Freddie" on Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I think Freddie is very present in the show and in people's consciousness. If they had played No one but you aswell then it would have been a bit repetitive and even more of a nostalgia act than it already is. There are many other better Queen songs that could have been included. Many people expected them to play NOBY and/or Sleeping on the sidewalk, because Brian and Roger had played them recently on WWRY inauguration parties, but they didn't play them. I don't think the track was particulary missed from the show. Now, It's Late or Now I'm Here, those HAD to be there... :S Wiley |

queen could've had rolling setlist, they have just too many great and well known songs what allmost anyone knows... but nope, they sang like allmost every show same songs... don't get me wrong i'm happy that they toured again but c'mon with that many great perfect songs they choose like only how many?? they sang like 40 songs (diferrent) on last two tours but they could've played like 100 diferrent, i'm just thinking don't they get boored by the same setlist every night? |
Champipple 29.06.2006 13:54 |
Queen has never had a rolling setlist. They aren't the freakin' Dave Matthews Band! |

cos they werent, get over it |
The Stealer 29.06.2006 17:59 |
I don't think they were approriate--enough of the depressing songs---get on with life. Maybe bri or rog did not want to stir up emotions inside--maybe they felt that they are best left with Fred (except. TMLWKY) I am glad they did the songs that they did and not depress us too much. I am all for the positive, the love, etc. Rock ON |

First of all, it wasn't a Freddie tribute concert, and even so, they still gave their fair share of appreciation to Freddie. So be happy with what they gave you. =) |

Made In Heaven wouldn't work for Paul, Brian or Roger vocally. As for the other three, with 'Love of my life', 'These are the days of our lives' and 'Bo Rhap', any more morbid Freddie songs would cross the border of sappy. They certainly could have swithed 'Days of our Lives' for 'No One But You' or something. I think they planned on mixing it up more during the U.S. tour but couldn't with Brian's back injury. |

What about Now I'm Here and Spread Your Wings???? |

spread your wings would suit rogers voice! |

I also wonder about TMLWKY and NOBY. Very possible new tracks |
Joeker 02.09.2006 13:08 |
well, its upseting that they play nothing from their first 3 albums.... they should have Queen I - Keep Yourself alive Queen II - Father To Son, or white queen (sung by brian) Sheer Heart Attack - Brighton Rock at least those or something from the early albums |
romefan 20.11.2006 23:46 |
Why the F wasn't "Body Language" played, damn...I was waiting all night for that one in Buffalo... |
Fenderek 22.11.2006 15:09 |
If there were any tracks I wanted them to play and I think that would suit Paul that would be rather stuff like IT'S LATE, HEADLONG, SOMEBODY TO LOVE, GET DOWN MAKE LOVE, SLEEPING ON THE SIDEWALK, INNUENDO; THANK GOD they didn't play NOBY- that would be (as few ppl already pointed out) a bit too much... |
White_King 23.11.2006 07:47 |
The most fucking incredible thing is that they said that much more material from the 70's would be played, and what do we find? Dragon Attack (although very tight and good it was from 1980), no '39 (1975) and nothing from the first 3 albums (except the "Brighton Rock" excerpt in Brian Solo). This is not what they promised. |
Drummer imense! 23.11.2006 12:20 |
I didnt really care what wasn't played in cardiff, it was good anyway so why quibble. Although SWEET LADY would have been nice :) |
Markman38 15.12.2006 06:43 |
I think they didn't play those songs because they didn't rehearsed them, but that is just a wild guess I know |
violonbleu 15.12.2006 10:22 |
I think too that we might have some good (or bad but I don't think so) surprises when they will tour in 2007. Roger said "we don't want to be revivalists"; so they won't be doing doing so much Queen songs; but if they do some from the last it cannot be something else than WWRY, WATC, TYMD. And Paul will not forget ARNow I guess; but as for the other songs, I think that there will be something very new and very good (and I think too that they won't be doing much old stuff from Queen, because of what Roger said, and because they have some sense of what could be boring or not) IMHO! |
john bodega 24.12.2006 01:18 |
If there's a song from the Queen catalogue that PR should be singing, it's White Man. |

Too much love will kill you -- Not strong enough of a song. No One But You -- Too much boo-hoo over Freddie is a downer at a live show. Bo Rhap, Days and Love Of My Life are plenty enough, and better, more popular live choices. Mother Love -- More on the too much crying factor, but also, who's going to sing it? Brian starts it off, but nobody's going to do it justice on each of the Freddie parts, which is 90% of the song. Made In Heaven -- I couldn't imagine Paul or Brian singing this song well, and Roger's version would be so different it would be weird. It's hard to imagine someone other than Freddie doing this song(although the Brian/Roger version of 'I Was Born To Love You' was a complete shock to me both that they did it, and more in how wonderful it turned out). The songs I was surprised to not hear even once this past tour are Now I'm Here, Stone Cold Crazy, Save Me, Heaven For Everyone, Mustapha, White Man, It's Late and Shooting Star. Those are a combination of past live regulars, hits Paul can do, Album tracks that Paul is perfect for and I really thought we'd hear Roger sing Heaven For Everyone at least once on the tour. The only one of these that I was kind of pissed about was It's Late. I think Paul is perfect for it and I really think it would have excited a lot of us. They made up for it when they put Dragon Attack into the set. |
