So what? A bunch of kids trying to get a shot to fame will go on stage for 2 hours to sing Queen songs. How is that going to damage their reputation? Elton John and Stevie Wonder did the exact same thing and nobody is criticizing them, or questioning their legendary status. Many of us think of Queen as a rock band, but the truth is that many Queen songs have a pop edge too. The fact that Queen is considered important enough to have songs from their catalogue performed on the most popular TV show in America makes me proud to be a fan of this band. When you think of it Queen seemed pretty much forgotten back in the 80s and 90s. All of sudden there's to a trend of young kids who are listening to Classic Rock and now bands like Queen, Floyd, and Zep have reached a cult status amoung youngsters who weren't even born at the time they were on top of the world. There will probably some good performances and some not so good ones, but I'm more than looking forward to see this show. |

I don't think it will damge Queen as a band themselves. It will help them if it affects them at all because I'm sure a lot of AI watchers have never heard anything about Queen before. But I don't know. I know I'm going to be personally dissappointed somehow. I don't know why. You know what? I'm glad I read your post. So what if they suck? Why should I get upset? |

I'm just jealous because they get to practise singing with Brian and Roger. I bet that little wretch Kellie Pickler will be all hugging the two, which I have no problem with except for, like I said, jealousy. |

I can't believe they are doing a Queen theme! Now people are going to think that Queen is some cheap band, because its been featured on American Idol. Its been a rough week for me, i worry so much that the contestants are going to screw up the songs! Seriously, i barely get any sleep and when i do get some sleep, I dream about American Idol. :( Is it Tuesday yet?? |

as far as i put it, Q+PR probably dont give a rats ass if AI kill all of there songs, cos in the end Q+PR will come on and make them all feel bad by playing the same songs and getting everyone cheering 100x louder, showing them how its really done! |

Lets not forget that probably after the show they will sell out some dates! Lots of kids will go to the concerts and that is what really matters. Queen never were "underground heros". They´re mainstream, and they allways reach all ages. In 20years from now it will be the same, because their songs allways sound fresh. Take care |

I'm in France for a year, and quenn is much more popular here than in the states when I left. They have a show very similar to American Idol over here and they've done queen songs. TSMGO was really good. Not only did they sing but they put on a big show. I don't know if they do it like that on AI but it was very interesting to watch. |
