Over at QOL Greg has put out an official comment on the "I want it all" book. Apprently it's now not slated for release till Chistmas 2007. However Galileo (the admin) has also added the following info. "There are still 5 or 6 dvds lined up, singles box set, Freddie solo stuff, main boxsets, the book, plus then possible q+pr studio album, ultimate queen album, ballads album...these are all just on a list of ideas and possible products..." hmmm does "I want it all" refer to QPL's plans for my money? I'd rather Queen - no matter what incarnation it may be - stay in the spotlight than fade away like other bands of its heyday. "I want it all" may be apt, but I think also in the fans' case. If even half of those releases happen I'll be happy (especially the singles box set!). |
Fenderek 26.01.2006 11:28 |
IWIA may be interesting. It's not a bad idea, although with help of certain Greg Brooks it may turn really bad... But I don't mind all this stuff being lined- GVH3, some 70s gigs, singles box set (well- I'm sucker for those!), MAIN BOX SET... The one that sounds... weird.. is ULTIMATE QUEEN ALBUM. WTF? Best of Greatest Hits 1, 2 and 3? |

Oh, yippee!!!! My faith in Queen has been fully restored. Singles box set - collection of Greatest Hits Ultimate Queen - Greatest Hits Ballads - Like Queen Rocks Fan-fuckin-tastic. The whole thing is a pile of shit, being run by people that have no vision and absolutely no regard for what true fans really want. |

Who said Queen is over? With those future releases, Queen's music will be alive for centuries. This is GH3 all over again: just another money-spinner for QP, or EMI, or whoever. Bet Trident must be kicking themselves, though! *Runs off and places pre-order on everything mentioned* |

Especially when non-fans don't quite realise that they are buying a repackage of something they already have. |

"Ultimate Queen" was suggested over at QOL years ago, essentially the idea was to release a compliation of the 17 highest charting singles. Basically a GH including A Winter's Tale, along with "Ballads", it's just a re-hash. If anything studio-related should be released, it should be in my opinion, the following: B-side/Demos album Complete BBC sessions And why would anyone buy a "Freddie solo stuff" cd, when the box set, Solo and the FM album are in circulation? |
Bobby_brown 26.01.2006 13:45 |
So many ideas, and 0 releases! I think we all need a new Queen compilation to remind us how great this band was! Greatest Hits volume 4, and then i need your help: We have the Gold collection- GH 1& 2 We have the Platinium Ollection- GH 1,2 & 3 What metal will fit the four greatest Hists toghether? Take care |

How about Vaudeville Queen- a collection of Queen's jazzy songs- we could at least get an EP out of it! And some Roger Taylor solo stuff if we really want a good laugh. |
sparverius 26.01.2006 17:25 |
Guys why do I have the feeling that what was mentioned as the "ultimate Queen album" is actually the ultimate NEW Queen album (with the reworked unreleased bits and pieces that we do and don't know of) rather than just a collection titled "Ultimate Queen"? Think of it, it makes sense. I'd think that if they were only at the ideas stage, they wouldn't already have settled on the names of the as yet theoretical releases. So, IMO, we are talking about a final/ultimate NEW Queen album with whatever is left over. |
AlexRocks 26.01.2006 19:30 |
I think that some of these compilations have been great so far. The hits collections. I don't mind a few other random ones. I understand that notion of having and or as few as possible but I would say the last is most likely and probably best. There is only one group in the pop cannon that I know about that has not had any real type of compilation releases or at least hits releases. That is AC/DC. Otherwise I desperately think that having all the hits that you all came up for that could be on a fourth greatest hits should NOT be released on a fourth greatest hits so that the albums that they are from will have had single releases and or hits that remain unto them. Also I think that a full three c.d. best of set should be done of SOME hits but mainly songs that were not even single releases but truely focuses on the best of Queen. I think that should be released in 2011 their fourtieth anniversary. |
JeroenG 26.01.2006 21:43 |
I'd go for the compilation album "THE NON UK SINGLES COLLECTION" containing all tracks that were released as a single outside UK, but not inside UK. And then ofcourse a limited edition containing an extra album with all the B-sides from the same singles. Hmm, they should have done that with GH 1, 2 & 3 too. |

Freddie solo stuff, eh? I wonder if this means that "Mr. Bad Guy" will get a stand-alone re-issue... Honestly, I'd like that very much, as I'd like to have a stand-alone copy. |

yeah, that's what I thought too : a sort of MIH sequel, that would probably be the most exciting new release imaginable, with I Guess We're Falling Out and Robbery a singles ! But will it happen ? Less likely than Queen : Unplugged and Queen Mid tempos ;-P |

Considering that some of the tracks on GH3 weren't hits either (hell, the live version of 'Show Must Go On' wasn't even a single), I figured that some exceptions could be made for a hypothetical fourth GH. |

Should we call the authorities on Calcium, eh? Otherwise I think any new songs done with unreleasd Feddie vocals should be for a box set. They need to move on and not tread on the past. Even though I think "Made In Heaven" is one of the best l.p.s EVER that should at least do a new l.p. with just Queen + Paul Rodgers FIRST before any type of "Made In Heaven II" is done... |
