I was wondering about how people would best describe Freddie's voice. What are some associated adjectives? I wonder this since I found it really hard to edit the "singer" portion of the wikipedia article on Freddie.
On one hand, you can always tallk about things like "vocal range" and "tone", "vocal versatility", "a distinctive voice", etc. although Freddi'es voice excels in all of these categories, these types of descriptions in no way enlighten anyone about what made Freddie Mercury such a great singer.
Can anyone give me some advice? Maybe suggest some better adjectives or something. By the way, here is the article itself: link
Well, those are pretty good adjectives that all apply to Freddie's voice. Anyone have any suggestions about how to incorporate them into the Wikipedia article? The link is listed above. Fell free to go in there and edit it, if you have some better ways to describe Freddie's voice.
The quote 'mad bad and dangerous to know' springs to mind, but of course the word 'bad' is all wrong for ol' Freddie.
You know, my sister stopped off to get a kebab tonight and the guy at the counter looked like Freddie. Fuck it was funny.
Low, light and powerful. Chest and head sung with a bright and pleasing tone including just a hint of raspiness. Commanding baritone and tenor ranges with no loss of tone or power and a virtuoso of many vocal stylings including screaming, growling, whispering, pop and gospel. Also well versed in classical/operatic.
Freddie's voice:
Sweeter than honey and molasses...
More refreshing than water...
More beautiful than a flower...
more precious than a kiss from a baby!!!
It's infact a very good description. And not only for devout fans.
Because it can be thundering powerful but very soft and etheric in the same song.
My word for his voice is ENERGETIC.
