when i started downloading the video that had been posted here before i thought it would be at least a video that you can watch..but when i saw that it was only a screen of a concert filmed with an amateur camera i was disappointed..don't think that i am blaming someone or smth..it's just that i was hoping to see a grand show with a audience over horizon..almost nothing is seen there..
i hope that there is a proffesional video recording of this concert..and that it will be released eventually..
don't let me down and say that there is no such recording...DON'T !!!!!
I don't believe this. Only a film from the screen? Can you imagine how hard it is to film a whole concert when all you want to do is jump around and have fun like everybody else? Most likely, we will never see an official Knebworth video and we owe it to the unknown fan who filmed the screen that we have a complete video.
Next time you should investigate before you download something, it's not too hard to find out details about the offered material. Maybe you will be less disappointed.
Yeah it sucks. And I disagree with Barb. No matter how much efford a fan took filming it. If the filming or sound sucks, the viewing experience suck.
Maybe the guys worked their asses off with stuff like Body Language or Delilah. That doesn't make it a good song for me!
your valentine>>> please do not get me wrong..for some reason you think that i am some kind of an ungrateful jerk..don't think so!! i think that the fan did a great job and that is nice that we have a possibility to take a look at what happened that night..
the thing that i am disappointed with is that i can't see this tremendous concert in a way as we all could..
don't you think that the very last performance with such a crowd should have been filmed?? don't you think so???
deep inside i hope that some surprise is waiting for us..but there are so many doubts and so little hope..
No, I don't think you are an ungrateful jerk:)
It's better to find out what you expect before downloading. Personally, I collect videos and I would be glad if we had a complete audience video from all Queen concerts. There is really almost no chance that Knebworth will ever be officially released ,so this is our best option.
...and it's historic...so take it as it is
the final queen gig...i have a copy...but quality aside...i keep it because i was there...and it means soemthing
I was dissappointed AT Knebworth.....i was there, and at one point, Hells Angels stabbed a Status Quo fan....i tried to get him to the medics in time, but didn't make it...he died when i was trying to save him, so in that perspective, yes, i was dissappointed AT Knebworth. When Freddie was told about this incident after the show, he stated: "If people have to die when they want to see Queen, i'll bloody never ever perform again"....he never did....not with Queen .......he was taken away from me by the Red Cross people, and i never got to learn who he was....I never found out who that boy was...that still hurts.
About the official recorded concert the following: At one of the Q&A sessions with Greg Brooks on one of the conventions, he was asked too if there was a good video recording. He answered that the whole show was filmed excellently, but that at one point the soundrecording went wrong, and that it is ONLY therefor that this film will not be released. He also said that it is pointless to overdub the Knebworth film with -for instance- the Budapest or Wembley sound...and let's be honest...WE wouldn't want that either...right?
i didn't know that much about knebworth...i knew that the fan was stabbed but did not know that freddie said those words...does anybody think that it was the reason(or one of the reasons why queen never performed after)??
your disappointment is connected to violence of people but not with the queen performance itself?? am i right??
and for that audio mistake-why can't the point where sound went wrong be edited with let's say sound of an audio recording-we can hear everything perfectly in a cd, can't we??
actually i don't know how they do those things with editing but maybe it is possible..
The situation, as I understand it, is as follows:
With a show like Wembley, because they actually intended to release it, show it, whatever, they kept the video from all angles so they could do a proper edit at a later date. Meanwhile, they had a guy on hand to switch from angle to angle for the big screen.
At Knebworth, I imagine that not all the multiple angles were actually preserved, so the video that they have is probably all the same edits as those that were seen on the big screen on the day. Same story with Live Aid.
And as for the sound being broken? COME ON I'm sure they can think of something.
There is other footage from Knebworth, we have seen ITTWWC on "Rare Live" and snippets of Radio Gaga and other songs in various documentaries. GB also said at one point that the audio is okay but they lost some video. The best we can hope for is a 2 DVD edition of Budapest including some Knebworth material.
"GB also said at one point that the audio is okay but they lost some video."
Hehe, he was quoted as saying the opposite, earlier up this page. Will the real Greg Brooks stand up please? :P
Nah but seriously, if they want to curb bootleggers they've got to start releasing things with more content to them. I would've gladly paid extra for Wembley, for instance, if it had a 3rd disc with Knebworth stuff on it. Seriously, I don't mind parting with money for superior product - which is what Queen *should* be anyway!
