Just wondering if you guys knew when the last recorded interview with Freddie was, on film; audio and written. Ive got a feeling the last audio was in 89 for 'Queen for an Hour' on Radio1, the last video interview must have been 88 or 89? I seem to remember reading an article in the Express i think it was a couple of days after Freddie died that said it was his last interview where he talks about not caring how he's remembered. Ive still got it and will have to dig it out, but i dont know if it was actually his last interview or just a sensationalised headline for a re-hashed interview from a few years earlier. Sorry if this has been covered before but im new here, any info would be greatly received, thanks. |

His last interview was in 1989. ("Hi, my name is Kim Basinger..." from November 1990 doesn't count for an interview ;)) |

I'm not sure that's necessarily true. Didn't David Wigg interview him in 1991 - parts of which were used / played on the Champions Of The World video in the montage of shots showing the Duck House? I'm certain that he was also interviewed around the release of Innuendo. |

It's the montage too. And this sentence has been said by Freddie in 1984, by the way. |

A shame that DORO intentional put it across as if it really was his last interview! That sucked big time!!! |

Yes, it was DoRo (as well as "Queen Talks" track from Innuendo days was compiled by DoRo - you can find it on the back sleeve even) |

To make it simple to discard an "era" of Queen.. I think there was no interview with him with a beard, right? |
Serry... 08.01.2006 03:26 |
In 1989 he had beard. |

OK, from what i can gather the last video interview with him was with Monserrate in 88, im still trying to get hold of that. The last audio was in 89 for the Radio 1 Queen for an hour - i think the "Hello im Kiss Bassinger" from Queen talks might have been an outtake from that Radio 1 programme?? The last formal written interview as an article must have been David Wigg in 87? |

Sorry but what does Innuendo EPK stand for? |

I'd love it if one day we had the whole 'jukebox' one. Might not be his 'last' video one per se, but it'd certainly rank as one of the more interesting ones (judging from what I've seen anyway. I love it when he says 'we're doing opera now. Forget rock and roll!'). |
TheGame 10.01.2006 12:59 |
Thanks for that clip. Haven't actually seen that before. |
Daveboy35 10.01.2006 13:16 |
As i remember and this is a few years ago the last video interview as such would be certainly the monserrat video or defintely the jukebox one as i can't think of any other official source. As for audio 'mike read queen for an hour' would certainly be the last audio interview or near enough , but i'm certain the daily mail published an interview in the summer of 91 i remember vividly because i was delivering daily papers all those years ago and it was by David wigg. What i can't rememeber was the content of this interview but i can't seem them publishing a interview in a daily paper 4 years after it just doesn't make sense , it would have been in there sooner. So to conclude then in my opinion there must have been a interview with freddie in the spring or summer of 91 by David wigg. Is there anyway we can find out?. |

BRENDA wrote: I only wished i kept all the papers i had from91 i had a scrap book and everything but sooner after he died i threw it out cause i was just totally devastated. damn!.Probably I know what you're talking about. I've read "The last Freddie interview by David Wigg" in one of Daily Express (November 1991), but it wasn't proper interview - it was a bunch of quotes from different Freddie interviews, some of them were in the mid-80s. I think if there was a REAL interview from late 1991 - we would know about it without any doubts, IMHO. |
Daveboy35 10.01.2006 16:13 |
That's probably what it was then a collage of different comments from interviews from 84 and 87 and i think logically if he was only having doctors and very close friends visit him it would be easier to compile something already written and done ,and then cut and paste to suit the reader. Yes serry i think you're right mate but i just thought Can you imagine how the fuck jim beach felt after being with him for five and a half hours with all this heavy news about his health and to never see him alive again. |
Paulos 10.01.2006 18:40 |
Thanks for that interview clip, i really appreciate it. And who would have thought that would hve been his last time interviewed on film, for a great man who achieved so much on film its sad that he didnt do anything more in depth at a later date, oh well. And as for the last written interview im guessing that it was in 87? Did he not do any formal interviews for the Barcelona album in 88? Thanks again everybody. |
Asterik 11.01.2006 15:41 |
Yes Pauolos freddie did a semi-formal interview for Q Magazine during the launch party. Rather spookily, he said that he would be looking forward to playing live with Queen again the followng year,as they'd started work on The Miracle. |

I've been searching for that picture of Freddie with King of Spain for the years... Thanks, mate! Though on the pic I've seen many years before he was shaking hand of King, and Nureyev was behind him. |
vadenuez 13.01.2006 16:20 |
Well, the thing is this: If there was a real all-new last interview from sometime in 1991, the interviewer must know that Freddie was very ill then. So, most of the interview had to be a lot about the disease, Freddie's fight, legacy, etc. Hence, such an important interview MUST have come out already. Otherwise, why bother to do it in the first place? Just my thoughts... |

"I do miss it (lve stuff) to a certain extent but I want to do the album first so we've got something to play live. I know I haven't done a live show for about 2 years but I can't do f***ing everything at the same time"- Fred in December 1988. What a shame... |

he last interview was in 1987 and last held in October 1991 in Montreux. But it was originally in August 1991 and said in November 1991 with Peter Freestone was a few hours before death. |

Do you guys know if it's available somewhere nowadays? |
