My Grandad died recently from cancer and my family and I are clearing out his house. So I haven't been online for a couple of days. The remix isn't really anything special. I am willing to concede that I may have gone further over the fine line that I was trying to walk. If you'll permit me to put across my perspective... The first post (especially with the title) could look very desperate, as if it's the one thing that would complete his/her existence. 24 hours later I knocked up a mix of Bijou & My Baby Does Me as a joke. So far, so satirical. another day later I subtly bumped it (the "ingrate" post), and within 24 hours more there's been a traumatic death in the family. WHICH IS UNPLEASANT AND NOT FUNNY AT ALL. However, it seemed a bit odd to me that in the light of all that trauma, the original thread had been started three days earlier. So I posted something that I hoped would be seen as fairly subtle highlighting that this seemed to be a very "Dark" wasy of starting a fight - "here's something that you didn't know so there!" Then I get invited to drop dead (seemed a little insensitive too), and respond unpleasantly, but once again highlighting that if your grandfather's dying is affecting you so badly, why would you be begging for Innuendo remixes? I KNOW it's a sensitive subject, but I did not see the discussion as being about grandfather dying, I saw it as being about people using serious subjects as crutches in arguments. If anyone thought I was mocking the dead, I apologise. If anyone STILL thinks I was, having read the above, then you need to stop judging me until you're mature enough to understand me. |

Guru then posts a link to said BEGGING letter. Lady did not reply - except to say: "The remix isn't really anything special. It's only two songs from two different albums put together. No magic or gripping stuff". Guru bumped the thread to sarcastically make the point 'Thank-you'. Sorry, but I have to agree with PG. I see no reason for the unmannered the ungrateful or uncultured to hijack this thread with terrorism. I have had many deaths in my family recently, and a very serious personal injury also, but through-out all the tragedy and trauma, I have never forgot to say "Thank you", or fail to give praise where praise is due. This thread says more to me about about upbringing than any other - and the problem certainly isn't the Guru's. |

I called this topic the name it is to make it stand out. If I just put 'Miracle/Innuendo' remix it wouldn't stand out. This way it did. And just because I didn't reply straight away I'm disgusting and an awful person. Even though it has nothing to do with you lot I will put some things straight. My Grandad died in October and now we are clearing his house out. I've never had to deal with his sort of thing before and it is very hard and I don't need you lot giving me your worthless comments because of some stupid remix. I really don't care about any of this. The tears, the tantrums or the tiaras. Regardless of your reasons - the fact is you BEGGED - and the Guru obliged. That is it - end of story. So just grow-up and say "Thank You". It's neither too late, or too grand a gesture. Everything else is neither big nor clever. Even in the face of the greatest adversity, it is not too difficult to be polite. And for the record - YES - being rude does make you come across as "a disgusting and an awful person". The fact your grandpa died in OCTOBER is making things worse for you - NOT better! There's no need to say "Thank you" straight away - you could have done it later. (God knows - but how did you find the time to start a new thread instead - AND reply to all the comments in here? It would have been quicker and more economical to be courteous than threatening). Geez... talk about digging a bigger hole for yourself. As Linda of the Valley so succinctly says: "That's the last time someone uploads something for you." I guess I could could add, it possibly the last time anyone replies to you - full stop. Now - instead of excuses, why can't you stand up, take a deep breath and admit; 'OK, perhaps I was a little bit rude and a little bit hasty, and I should have said 'Thank you' a bit earlier? AGP, please don't be rude towards P_G. Again, he wasn't having a go at you, OR your grampa. He just wanted a "thanks" for his efforts to try and satisfy your "begging" (request). It's too bad that your grandfather died. I lost a good friend to breast cancer back in September 2003, so I know how you feel. I can sympathize. But you know what? There's a saying in my family's other language, French, that goes "C'est la vie", which means "That's life". It means you have to accept the way things are, and move on. Now, I'm sure you might not agree with us on defending P_G, but I would like to ask that you at least admit that you took things he said the wrong way, and also that a simple "I'm sorry" to everyone here would be in order, and then let bygones be bygones. |
