Noooooooo
Nooooooooo
Noooooooooo
Way too early, why on earth I never seem to get the black christmas I dream of.
Of course this doesn't mean that the first snow is permanent, it hardly ever is. But I was still in a big shock to see snow outside the window this morning.

You serious? thats crazy...
At least the weather in Scotland is consistent: rain.....rain....rain....rain.....snow....rain....rain....light rain....rain
yes, that storm of 1962 was bad, the person i was workin with today told me about it, apparently every 20 odd years we get a bad winter, we did 20 odd years ago, and we are due for another!
It got worse, this morning and in the afternoon we had unbearably thick icy-cold rain/snow-like surges. I could hardly see where I was going when I bicycled to work and off from work, it was like tiny ice-sticks hitting your eyes :-/
Damn, this place sucks at this time of year. link
The only time I ever saw snow in October was when I was in Minnesota. As far as I'm concerned that climate is only fit for polar bears..;-)
We are lucky to see an inch of snow here the whole winter. If it DOES snow, people tend to go completely apeshit. It's fun..:-)
snow...im not looking forward to that. I went shopping for winter clothes this past weekend.
it was 40 here... and i got a fever. Yeargh, Im gonna die. me and my shitty immune system.

Yeah! That’s our current weather here... rain, rain and... rain. But Friday it'll be 20 degrees Celsius. Scary :S
Yeah, I know! What about all the good Christmas songs that wouldn't apply? No Frosty, no Winter Wonderland, no Christmas Song, no Sleigh Ride...etc.. How do ya stand it? ;-)
Summer Christmas is kind of weird. The shopping mall Santas have to have fans on them cause they get too hot and people still try and have the turkey dinner. There's this stupid ad which is on TV every year selling tyres of all things and this idiot man is walking around in the 'snow' singing Walking in a Winter Wonderland. Annoys me every year.
I've had two Northern Hemisphere Christmases and I have to say, it makes much more sense over there. Last one was in Germany in 2001, we had a white Christmas and that was kick-arse. The other thing is, over here they try and be very PC, so no nativity scenes except at churches and no carols in state schools. Also, it's in the middle of the summer holidays so of course no extra days off for anyone, just Christmas Day, maybe Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
My town has a Latter-Day Saints temple (the only one in the SH) and they deck it out with lights and have carols so I go to that most years.
It's definitely different but I think I prefer your way...
They keep calling for snow here, but so far we're safe. I'm concerned - it's been above freezing and I've already busted out the hat and mittens! I am hoping it will hold off a little longer so the little kiddies won't freeze on Hallowe'en (I have terrible memories of wearing a snowsuit under my costume when I was little - it ruins the effect!).
Aah, we're expected atleast three days of plus-temperatures with chances of RAIN until tuesday. Infact it'll be the warmest days since early september if I recall correctly. I can't even recall when we last had +10C or close to it.
If this is winter, I'm loving it ;-) The snow has already melted and I can see grass again. Of course global warming doesn't exist... link

The Last week near Chicago we have had heavy frost, but no snow, and my sons and I got to go tent camping in it for Cub Scouts. It sure was hard to get out of the sleeping bag in the morning.
This coming week we have a warm up with high temperatures of 20 C.
