LOL! Jingles...be nice now... ;-)
Don't forget the BOX set too! The Darkness will probably copy it before Queen ever even releases it! Don't hold your breath!
I can see the similarities a bit, mostly in the layered guitar parts, but I think they draw inspiration from a bunch of bands and aren't just 'ripping off Queen'. I hear a lot of AC/DC and some Thin Lizzy in there, too, but there shouldn't be anything wrong with a band sounding like another one early on in their career before they've managed to develop their own sound...Queen did, too. :)
It does sound like AC/DC but with some ridiculous falsetto. I mean, I love it, but if I had to choose one adjective to describe it, it would be ridiculous. But it's great. I have to say I really like the Darkness, mostly because they reinstilled hard rock in an industry that was beginning to lose its heaviness.
As for layered guitar parts, I don't really see too much of that - no more than usual for a band. But in the solos I have noticed such things as overtracking thirds and such, but nothing too polyphonic.
