I'm saying this becuase Stevie's long awaited new album 'A Time 2 Love' will finally be available in stores on October 18th, after pushing release dates since May, when it was initially expected. All songs from the album are already available for purchase on Itunes.
I just listened to the sound clips, and I gotta tell you this might be Stevie's best work since 'Songs In The Key Of Life'. It's classic R&B at it's best. First of all I gotta say that it put aside my worst fears that Stevie might collaborate with a rapper of experiment with hip-hop to appeal to a younger audience, but no, this is Stevie Wonder doing what Stevie Wonder does best.
Stevie Wonder fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought, on vinyl, when they ORIGINALLY came out (showing my age), ''Songs In The Key Of Life'', ''Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants'', ''Talking Book"' on LP.
Singles I had, ''My Cherie Amor'', ''Superstition'', ''You Are The Sunshine Of My Life'', ''master Blaster'', ''Ribbon In The Sky''.
The man is a GENIUS....ten gazillions time the songwriter and political social activist than dumb old Bob Dylan.
He all but LED the campaign to make Martin Luther King's birthday a Federal recognized holiday, his songs of social consciousness, about racism, politics, poverty, man's inhumanity to man...
..and just plain GORGEOUS songs.. (Songs In the Key of Life is his masterpiece, every song is sterling)
the man is a legend...and while the last 2 decades he rarely records, except duets with other stars (loved his harmonica solo on Sting's ''Brand New Day'', and his duet on that song he did about 3-4 years ago with babyface about domestic violence, it's GREAT to see he's back...though his more recnt records have been on the fluff side.
Stevie's my fave R&B singer...a musical genius, IMO. Being a big fan of 70s & 80s music, other than "I Just Called To Say I Love You" and "Overjoyed," I can't think of one other song he put out as a single that I don't like.
I really like his early/mid 70s stuff. "Signed Sealed Delivered," "Never Had A Dream Come True," "Heaven Help Us All," "Superstition," "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing," "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life," "Living For The City"....

Oprah gets on my nerves. Did you guys hear that last year she gave Stevie Wonder a $400.000 Rolls Royce for his birthday? That must have been like giving candy to a diabetic.
I think that Stevie Wonder would appreciate it a lot more if she gave some of her vast fortune to charity.
Stevie Wonder likes driving his car in a wide open empty parking lot. He has fun doing it and Oprah is well aware of it.
BTW he's one of the most brilliant musicians from the last 50 years IMO
I am well excited but especailly excited for my Dad, he is a HUGE fan.. Stevie is to him what QUEEN are to me...He named me after Stevie's Daughter Aisha and after the Song isnt she lovely cause it was a hit a few years before i was Born and there's a line in the song that goes.."life is Aisha the meaning of her name" So my name means "life" and i think thats pretty cool. His Daughter Aisha duets on his new album on a song called Positivity cant wait to hear it. xx

For those of you who can't wait for october 18th 'A Time 2 Love' is available for download from most, if not all download stores now. (Motown Records did this so the album wouldn't miss the cut-off date for next years grammy nominations).
I doubt that the finished product will hold a candle to his 70s work, but I could be surprised. Unlike a lot of people, I really liked the 'So What the Fuss' single that Stevie put out a few months ago. It's funkier and wittier than one would expect from a man whose music descended into the realms of abject naffness over 20 years ago.
Though I haven't downloaded the album yet, I did hear a few clips a while ago. Some of what I heard has potential (for example, the title track and 'Shelter in the Rain'), but I suppose the proof will be in the listening. Others who have downloaded the album say that it is fairly mellow and ballad based, with a couple of uptempo funk/R&B workouts thrown in. (I've never thought that Stevie's ballads were his strongest suit).

I think the only bad thing people could say about 'A Time 2 Love' is that there's not too much of "re-invention" from Stevie's part. It's a very safe album that will indeed satisfy most fans who expect Stevie to stick to his trademark sound of R&B, funk, and soul from the 70s.
I just read on Yahoo! that iTunes will be exclusively offering a new Stevie Wonder box set coming out a week before his new CD. The box set will supposedly contain over 570 tracks!
That's gonna be one hu-fucking-mongous box set!
