They really rocked that place. What a wonderfull concert. The sound was great, and the band was just amazing. Roger Taylor seems to be a very happy person, he looked like a child, he was laughing all the time and his drum solo was breathtaking. I wasn't expecting something that good.
Paul Rodgers was amazing too, and after reading your posts about Robbie Williams at live 8 i really think they've made the right decision on touring with him.
It wasn't a sell out concert but there were a lots of people -about 30.000-(Portugal is in a middle of a very profound economical and political crisis).
THe cocert was professionly filmed probably for the DVD.
If you can, go to Hyde Park and see them. Now i now the reason for them to be around- Bring happiness to people lives throughout their music. If you could see the fans faces after the concert...
Another thing:
The LOst Horizon solo sounds too beautifull. I mean. you will never hear a guitar sound as beautifull as Brian's in your life. There were no low point, of course you like some songs better than other songs, but to see them performing those songs with such a joy, it amazes me.
They could be around for more five or ten years, as long as they feel right doing it and people want to hear i don't see why not.
Go see them and judge for yourselves, but after what i saw i thing that there were people that criticised them in a way they didn't deserve to be criticize.
Almost forgot: Brian has made a reference to Live 8 and asked for people to scream loud for Bob Gueldof.
Fantastic.
TAke care
great review...can't wait for Hyde Park
btw...has anyone seen Queen + Paul Rodger's message for Live8? I think if they would have played it, they would have been the best band there....
