I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but what the hell. I think Brian's voice is terrible. It sounds really squeaky and womanly and is totally inappropriate for rock. The only song on which it sounds fine is "I don't want anyone teasing...", which is more of a blues. So I was wondering, why the hell didn't he get a lead singer for his solo tours? Or even more of them. He should just stick to his guitar playing, which is excellent. |

in studio it's great, live SUCKS |

But one thing. I'm going to the tour and I will prefer Brian singing sertain songs above Paul Rodgers. Cause when Brian or Roger sings them you really got the feeling your seeing Queen. How false it may be. |

on the queen albums it´s really nice to hear brians voice on one or maybe two songs, but a whole album, like his solo albums, don´t sound good whit just him singing.. Maybe he dont have the best voice for rock&roll, but it certainly fits some of his songs like 39. And finally, I like his voice live, its just like the voice on the albums. |

I don't think he's a great rock singer. His songs like All Dead, Sail Away Sweet Sister and Too Much love Will Kill you are excellent examples of why he is better off not bothering with the rock and roll stuff. I will say that Resurrection redeems him, it's great. |

I like Brian's voice. It fits with the songs he sang on Queen albums - Some Day One Day, 39' Long Away, Sail away sweet sister... which are all songs that I love |

You're not gonna get flamed for this,it's your opinion. To be honest I agree that Brian sounds womanly on some songs but he is appropriate for rock.I like many of his songs when he sings them. Some times he's damned good but some other times he isn't that good.... |

i agree with the initial idea to a point. Also i feel Brian is very forceful about singing and the band was hurt as a result. Some songs like sail away sweet sister and sleeping on the sidewalk would have been hits with Freddie singing.I think Roger could have been better served not to sing as much as well. |
Ayreon 28.06.2005 05:01 |
I think Brian's voice is nice, but he hasn't got much volume in his voice. he sings a calm song like 'Another World' quite good live, it's really a pleasure to listen to. But when it comes to volume and he has to sing loud to rocky songs like 'Tie your mother down' it is... lets say, less good. ;) And don't start about Rog's voice. Roger rocks!! Roger AAAAHHHHH! Leon |

i love his voice! it's nice, sweet, and promising...'course, i dont have any of his solo albums, but songs like '39 and the bit he sings in the begining of WWTLF is really nice |

Some people think that. And i can agree with them that his voice is not... great!.. but.. I like some of his songs where he sings.. I couldn't imagine Freddie sing Good Company and Some Day One Day! Actually... SDOD is Brian's greatest vocal apperience...:) Or at least I think so...but I think he's best in the backing vocals.. In live performances it is not great...but studio...it can get really nice! But he hasn't as good control on it as many other singers. |

WHAT THE HELL??? brians vioce ROCKS!!! hell, i'd like to her you sing... |

I don't think his voice is womanly, I love Brian very much and I give him credit for getting out their and trying. I like his solo stuff, I have seen live stuff and I agree, it's not great. I think it's more that he is so soft spoken that I have a hard time hearing him over all the music behind him and he strains to be heard. No matter what, I hope he puts out another album, it's been way to long since another world! |

I agree... but ironically Sail Away Sweet Sister and All Dead happen to be two of my favorite Queen songs. And I do like to listen to Driven by You and Starfleet, but i always have this voice in the back of my head thinking "gosh his voice sucks..." and I recall listening to Another World with a friend and he was like, "WHO IS THIS? THe guitar sounds good but the singer is dreadful..." Of course i has to stick up for brian a little bit...but yeah. Its a bit too breathy and wimpy for me. |
Tstankie 07.07.2005 07:46 |
Maybe he's not good tehnical. He doesn't have good vocal range, but his voice is very nice. I like it very much. I prefer it in studio, he's not a good singer live. His voice fits better to ballads, than to hard rock songs. But I like it. |
dixie 07.07.2005 12:48 |
bris voice is class. got a great range. the man is very talented in all areas |
FriedChicken 08.07.2005 05:14 |
On a lot of songs i prefer BRian over FReddie. Freddie was a bad singer aswell, he had a great voice, but he wasn't a technical singer at all |

Bri's voice CAN be quite nasal and strained. However, as some have said, on songs like '39 and Another World he's perfect. If you want a wicked example of Brian's voice - try his cover of ''(I Don't Want Nobody) Teasin' Around (With Me)''.... fucking awesome. Great vocals and great guitar. Amazing track. |
Mle2747 11.07.2005 18:49 |
I think Brian has a nice voice because he didn't smoke like the others. Roger's was kinda raspy and... really high sometimes and Freddie's got lower and a bit more nasal-y in his later years. Freddie and Roger rock, but I think Brian's voice is most pure. Freddie was fabulous in the 70s ya know? Don't eat me for saying that. |
Roy Queen 15.07.2005 20:44 |
Yup, I totaly agree with you guys who think Brian's voice fits with the songs he sing. I like that "gentle" voice of him, I think it makes the song more cozy.. |
leto 16.07.2005 11:58 |
I love Brian's voice. His voice can even be very emotional & rock : "The Business" is the perfect exemple. And the song "Another World" is an example of soft & powerful voice. When I saw him in Paris, I was very surprised, because he rocked more than I could imagine on LP... |
AmeriQueen 17.07.2005 04:33 |
I think Brian's voice often on his solo records struggles to fit with certain songs but with the right song, he is truly incredible. All Dead All Dead is a perfect example of why he is a great singer. Same with Roger. Listen to Hijack My Heart or Love on a tight rope and you can't imagine anyone more fit for those songs. Freddie, however, can do anything pretty much perfectly. For the record, I think Brian and Roger are better than Paul Rodgers on vocals. |

i love bri's voice, i agree it's not really rock but on Sail Away Sweet Sister, '39, ect. i think his voice sounds as if it's filled with emotion, that every word he sings is coming from his heart and he really means it. maybe it's just me that thinks that but whatever ! :-p |
